Churumuri records with deep regret the passing away of the Kannada film legend, Dr Raj Kumar. He was 76. Dr Raj Kumar was many things to many people—actor, singer, yogi, titan—but he was above all a gentleman. Despite many blandishments from political parties, Dr Raj had the vision and foresight not to enter public life, thus preventing Karnataka from proceeding in the same direction as the other three Southern States which cannot distinguish between cinema and politics. Rest in Peace.
Bingo, KP. I think that’s what made him different and dignified. He simply stayed away from politics. Something even AB could not resist.
in my personal opinion , if he was a man such high virtues and principles our state lost a chance to have a good person at the helm of affairs. Why is that shirking of a role in public life equated to being ‘different’ ‘dignified’??
i was wondering the same thing just this afternoon. is it possible that far too many of us have begun to see actors entering politics through amitabh bachchan’s “politics is a cesspool” prism? subconsciously, do we want them to retain their silver screen purity?
At least I dont want to know about any of their Purity ( pun unintended).
We could not believe today that we dont have Dr.Rajanna with us and we cant see him anymore.. which we cant imagine.
we are shocked.. shocked..
Who is there to replace rajanna…? no one can grows to his stature.
We have to teach our children about his life ethics, politeness, simplicity, and how to respect other person.

Brilliant !!! Kannadigas don’t realise that tamils and telugus look down upon Rajkumar because he did nothing for the people ! MGR started midday meals program which has become role model for all of India , and even world bank has praised it for greatly inducing students to go to school and thereby reducing illiteracy !
And NTR , by creating Telugu Desam party has given andhraites a voice in the centre , by which they can get things done by putting pressure on central government.Remember how Chandra babu Naidu ensured AP got huge loans and turned Hyderabad into Cyberabad !!!
Tamils and Telugus hot Rajkumar to be a selfish person who gave back nothing to the state !!!
Anyway , he was truly a role model , a bangarada manushya. If he had entered politics , he would have been a model politicians for the rest of the world.
All i am saying is politics is a necessary part of human civilization and we haev to embrace it without feeling guilty about it.
Krishna says “No work is impure. Its the spirit in which we do it that matters”
