Just to clarify “Adisi nodu beelisi nodu” from kasturi Nivasa and “Baadihoda balli inda” from Eradu Kanasu are not sung by Rajkumar. I would add “Aradisuve madanari” from Babruvahana and “Nadamaya e lokavella” from Jeevana chaitra.

BTW, Naavaduva Nudiye was sung by Dr PBS, not Dr Raj. I would put Jenina Holeyo Haalina Maleyo in that place. Music director, the famed pair Rajan-Nagendra, used 40+ instruments for that song from “Chelisuva Modagalu” (1984).

While all the songs mentioned are great I would like to add “Cheluveya nota chenna ..” and “Chinna baalalli ee raatri baradu innendu.. ” from Shankar Guru just for the different moods the songs convey. I am also surprised that Naaniruvude Nimagaagi.. from Mayura is not on this list. I just assumed it was there.

Yes there is…but the lyrics are “Ide Raagadalli, Ide Talladalli, Radhegagi hadida neela megha shyama” from the movie Shravana banthu, the music was by M Ranga Rao.

I like sad songs. Kaneera Dhaare (Hosa Belaku); Ninagagi Ododi Bandhe (Sannadhi Appanna) and Anuraaga (Nee Nanna Gellalare). And I like his devotional songs –he infused bhakti without making it overtly religiously or Hinduistic!

to my opinion… i feel the order of priority in terms of musical degree of diificulties the songs should be in this order

From the above its clear that..all his songs are top class like him. And more interestingly its tough compositions too. For example, song Ganga Yamuna Sangama Janaki herself took too many rehearsals and revealed this. RAJ is MUTTU, those who know this only they know this!!

What about ‘Love me or hate me” song from Operation diamond racket. I was told that it is the most watched one on you-tube. I simply can’t forget “ee samaya shringara maya” from ‘Babruvahana’. Dr. Raj has sung with lot of shringara rasa. He was the only singer who could say dialogues in the middle of the songs and make it sound so melodious.

Recently I was privileged to watch a spectacle unfold,
DR.RAJKUMAR ‘s last movie as a bond — operation diamond racket was rereleased in Bangalore and other parts of karnataka, its always a treat to watch ANNAVRU on screen, so went to kapali theatre on a weekend,
What I saw was a celebration of greatness by fans, housefull theatre, traffic jam, bursting of crackers, bands performing in front of screen, this shows that a phenomenon like Dr.Raj only gets bigger.
It was a successful screening with great collections for over a week, not bad for a movie which was released in 1978.
TIC TIC TIC—– full length English song sung by Dr.Raj with great confidence , when no other stars in India would not even dream of.
