The buzz in Bangalore is that Dr Raj Kumar’s death has saved the government-owned Kanteerava Studio from imminent demise.
Apparently, a plan had been hatched by bureaucrats sell a 3-acre portion of the studio’s sprawling complex.
The ostensible purpose: to raise money to “develop” the rest of the studio. The hidden purpose: to sell the family jewels in a booming real estate market.
But Dr Raj’s death and the cremation of his body in the studio complex, which was on the block, has put paid to that plan.
“Even when he was lying there motionless, Dr Raj has contributed to an industry that already owes him much,” a top director told churumuri.
This is simply very amazing. May this studio produce great movies for the people of the state.

Ramesh, here are two more thoughts. Should the government be in this studio business at all? And if Ramoji Film City and the others in Hyderabad can be run so successfully, why do find it so difficult in Bangalore?
