Will somebody please explain? If there can be an A. Ramanna Circle and a B.C. Lingaiah Circle, if there can be a T.N. Narasimhamurthy Circle and a B. Basavalingappa Circle, if there can be a Srikanta Sharma Circle and a B.S. Chikkannadas Circle, if there can be an Agaram Rangaiah Circle and a Thagadur Ramachandra Rao Circle, pray, why cannot there be an R.K. Narayan Circle?
Ahhhh….how naive are we :)
TN Narasimhamurthy and B Basavalingappa were servants of people. They lived their life to serve the common man, true to the spirits of a democratic society.
What the hell did RK Narayan do ?
Oh, and before anyone points a gun at me, I always wondered why sarcasm can never be subtle.
did they have something which made people going round in circles???
yeah, ofcourse we should have some circles/roads named after great eminents lke RKNarayan.
Lets find some new circle which are coming up at mysore and also get ready with list of other leaders
Yes. Instead of naming the circles/roads/parks with the names of insipid politicians, an R K Narayan Circle or Road will be an apt memorial to the great litterateur.
Instead of naming a circle, which may not be rememered for a long time or may be called by its old name or may be renamed after a decade or so, it is better to keep a statue either in front of Vidhanasoudha/Vikasa soudha or Parliament Bhavan.
Hi,
Is there a memorial or any proects in the pipeline to honour RKN ,t least in Mysore?
At this moment, there is no memorial in honour of RKN in Mysore. But an academic seminar is apparently being planned as part of his birth centenary. You will find more on this topic if you were to type “CAMPAIGN” in the search window.
