With Karunanidhi's DMK promising rice at two rupees a kilo, and namma Lakshmipuram hudugi's AIADMK responding with 10 kilos free rice for every 10 kilos bought, surely a party which promises a free rice cooker will stand to gain in the Tamil Nadu elections?
I dont know of any party which can give rice cooker, but people of TN are cooked up in the heat of weather as well as heat of elections.
I wonder how good is the aptitude of TN junta as the results are always tilted against one single party and have never seen hung assemblies.
I think the real elite TN junta are either in blore or malaysia or singapur
Girish,
forget the ‘elite’ junta … nothing can beat rustic logic. If u actually see how TN is progressing they are making the right choices all the way.
I am not sure Karnataka is that far behind TN, so to speak.
TN has turned ‘political opportunitism’ to a positive one. The junta has already made the decisions and last moment promises to provide pickles and papads will not sell.
Vivek Rajagopalan writes from New Delhi: Can’t understand who Girish Hampali “elite” junta are. Political rhetoric of this variety can be heard almost everywhere in India. The humble ration shop is one up on the swanky Big Bazaars who’re still stuck at the buy-one-get-one free stage of retail evolution. 10 kgs absolutely free, no swipe of card required!
Well, honestly with so much corruption everyehere (there’s even a condom scam somewhere) and politicos making big bucks I don’t mind as a taxpayer if the poor get free rice. Oh, and if you are a self-styled, Haseeb Drabu-like state finance whiz, tell me which Indian state is in the black??
Tax payer Vivek Rajagopalan:
Let me explain what I meant by elite voter. A person who make constant effort to elect a better person among the available devils.
If you feel your tax entitles a poor man for 10 kg rice, then god save this county. Subsidies kill you.
