‘Ananth, see to it that there’s only one funeral’

In today's Indian Express (northern editions), Sudheendra Kulkarni, the Belgaum man who became L.K. Advani's Man Friday writes on Pramod Mahajan. Sudheen last met Mahajan as Advani's rath yatra was entering Karnataka.

"Our yatra was about to proceed from Solapur to enter Karnataka on April 12, when news came about the demise of Raj Kumar, icon of the Kannada cinema.

"Pramodji’s first reaction to Ananth Kumar, BJP general secretary and prabhri of Advaniji’s yatra, was: 'Ananth, you are an MP from Bangalore. Our government in Karnataka must ensure that there is only one funeral.' In the stampede and chaos that ensued, there were five more funerals in Bangalore, besides that of Raj Kumar."
