S.M. Krishna’s son-in-law to finance newspaper?

The air is thick with rumours in Bangalore that Maharashtra Governor S.M. Krishna is getting into the media scene, through his son-in-law V.G. Siddhartha, who owns Coffee Day. Although nothing is firmed up yet, the plan is to prop up an afternoon newspaper that intends to take on Mid-Day which is due for launch any time now.

With the H.D. Deve Gowda khandaan also deciding to spend their hard-earned money in the media through Kumaraswamy's television channel Kannada Kasturi, a new ground seems to be set for the rivalry betweeen the State's two premier vokkaliga vamshas.
