A.M. ROSENTHAL 1922-2006

A.M. Rosenthal, the Canadian who did not let a childhood scarred by the deaths of his father and four of his five sisters, stop him from becoming the man who transformed the New York Times has passed away at age 84. "Abe", like most NYT editors, did a stint in New Delhi, and was best known for having travelled 1,500 miles into the Hindu Kush so that he could get a dateline that said 'AT THE KHYBER PASS'.
