Brian Lara's century in the second innings of the second Test against India yesterday, a century that helped the Caribbeans squeeze out an honourable draw, reopens the evergreen question: Is the Trinidadian better than Sachin Tendulkar when it comes to rescuing his side? Not merely on the evidence of yesterday's ton, but overall.
Do Lara and Inzamam ul Haq end up saving more Test matches than we give them credit for? Temperamentally, are they better in playing with the lower order than Sachin? Has Lara bounced back brilliantly from the initial post-375, post-501 hiccups? Or does Sachin's overall individual record supersede the team's fortunes?
Anyday, BCL is better thans SRT. BCL ondh thara kasht gaaladalli aagtharalla, aa groupge serdhonu. SRT moody fellow. 10-15 runs short of total thananka bat maadthane. innenu gelthivalla antha out aagthane. MUGEETHU story.
Lara is Million times better then Sachin. Non of Sachin’s Centuries had Saved India compare to Lara’s Centuries. Lara is Genius
Brian Lara plays for West Indies and Sachin plays for India, I am an Indian and a strong supporter of Indian Team and players. I do know some statistics, it is ony Sachin has not been able to play well in the recent couple of years, that I guess does not put him down. He is good in his field and good for our country, Lara is also a good player and in a way good for his country, but he has his own options to play or to skip matches to enjoy his country’s annual CARNIVAL, but Sachin does not have this option unless he is not fit.
The above two gentlemen I guess are Indians leaving in West Indies and they love what they love.
If people can remember a few years back West Indies lost a match and the players were sitting outside having a party in public on the grounds and later apologised to thier country men for their behaviour.
Cricket has to be treated as a game, anything can happen, Lara has been lucky at the fag end of his career, it rained for one full day and he could be their with a century, but not till the end. Could have gone the other way if the Indians had a few more overs, so it is a game and both players are good in their own way.
Shivu, bengloor huduganappa naanu. Ok, neevu helo maatu opkonde. But don’t you feel Lara has saved and won more matches than Sachin? Compare maadodralli no harm. Yene heli, nam hudugrige kecchede illa.
lara ,sachin are both great batsmen in terms of artistry, elegance , range of shots. but when it comes to matchsaving performances and value to the team, i think rahul dravid and inzy are the best.
