Atal Behari Vajpayee has revealed to Shashi Tharoor that he is working on his memoirs; a 200-250 page account of his time at the helm. It is not exactly a chronicle of his prime ministerial tenure, but will certainly look at the most important signposts: Pokhran, Agra summit, Kandahar, Kargil, etc. And it will come out in English and Hindi.
The titles of Vajpayee's previous books have all been deadly boring: Meri Sansadiya Yatra (My Days in Parliament), Sankalp Kaal (The Era of Commitment), Amar Aag Hai (The Immortal Fire), Shakti se Shanti (Peace through Power), Jansangh aur Musalman (Jan Sangh and Muslims) and Meri Ekyavan Kavitayen, a collection of 51 poems.
What might be a nice, succinct and, yes, sexy title for the new book? Tell us. Remember: P.V. Narasimha Rao, alone among recent PMs (if you leave out I.K. Gujral), has cared to write a book, two in fact. And the first was titled 'The Insider'. So, what should Atal call his? Please help an ex-PM in grave need of creative inputs.
Churumuri will ensure that the best suggestion at least reaches his ears. Just don't ask us how.
