Robin is young and can be included in the side after the world cup.For the time being,he can be ‘rested’ and replaced with Dinesh Karthik-he can come 6 down.Unlucky Robin-he had no competition from Sehwag till Bermuda match.Now that he hit a 100 and Robin failed,he is under selector scanner.If india enter super 8, Robin has still a chance-he is young too.

Regardless of what has happened and what will happen in the World Cup, the Indian team needs to think long term. Or else it will end up like the Pakistan team, which has lost its coach, captain, and selectors, and its credibility and standing because of just two defeats. Therefore, India’s accent should not just be on the Sri Lanka match but about the “foreseeable future”. So, while Robin Uthappa should be “rested” for the match, it is important that the team management thinks of building a side with the likes of him. He’s a good fielder in a side which is not bristling with good fielders. He has the same devil-may-care attitude as Sehwag. Any team which has a revolving door for players and reacts after every defeat or win will not go too far.
