One of the joys of watching the 2003 World Cup in South Africa on television was Mandira Bedi. Bright, chirpy and often pretty sexy, she brought a certain freshness to a dreadfully boring tournament with her complete ignorance of the game and her inane questions.
This time, in contrast, it’s been a tremendously exciting World Cup, but Ms Bedi, in contrast, has been deadly dull. She seems uptight and restrained, and even the spaghetti straps do not warm the cockles. Heaven knows what is the cause, but about the nicest thing about Mandira this time around is the peppy theme song ‘Come Play’ in which she and her co-anchor, Charu Sharma, figure.
Incidentally, Mumbai Mirror did an entire page on this in today’s (March 23 edition)
She must be having difficult times with her Marital Life …maybe not satisfied . Last World cup she had just married .
Have a heart Dheerendra
Be objective with your comments. Why should you speak ill about Mandira’s marital life?
Whether you like it or not, Mandira is Mandira, the real ‘Madira’ for world cup cricket wathers. At times I find her compering is more interesting than many of the matches!
DG
Are you saying Mandira is USA? :) Personally I like her spirit. She fashioned something from a world of dry talk shop twits like Gavaskars and Ravishastris! That is worth something–as also her interesting choice of wardrobe.
Different strokes for different folks!?
“…One of the joys of watching the 2003 World Cup in South Africa on television was Mandira Bedi….”
are you out of your mind?

How can that be perversion — it is a genuine compliment!!
Well, I thought the whole country would be shouting her name out, in Kannada, that is.
Mandira bEDi !!!
The Mandira Bedi and Charu Sharma Team is the ultimate pits! Oh! for a Harsha Bogle to resurrect cricket…..
I am happy we somehow got rid of these boring faces and the boring discussion in the name of Extraa Innings…. Its pretty cruel on the part of the Channel Management to impose this on the viewers – and the discussion regarding the matches are too one-sided and India Biased so the say the least.
Hopefully, the next world cup will not be hosted by Sony Entertainment and we can do well forget Mandira by that time!!
ERR – your assessment is correct. Lets get Harsha Bhogle back!
