While we can break our heads and other bodily organs on the state of the Kannada cinema till the cows come home and leave again, “TARLE” SUBBA forwards us a link to a YouTube trailer of Girish Kasaravalli‘s Dweepa that offers us a snapshot of what our filmmakers can accomplish, if only they want to, if only they are allowed to. Notice Soundarya‘s premonitory line, “If we are fated to die there, none can stop it”! But, surely, we need to pause and ponder if our audience really wants such cinema?
why was this cinema not sent for Oscars?
Kannatthil Mutthamithai was also good enough to be nominated for Oscars. They never look at the south, do they? How crappy that Rang De Basanti made it to the nominations the last time.
Dweepa is one of the best from Kasaravalli.
folks… please thank raghu an ad man from blore for this excellent video.
gutti… badnekayi thumbu.
MR has too many props in his movies. In KM, to put it mildly, he oversold his underselling.
iruvar was his best.
GK is a minimalist. a different animal from MR.
dweepa had too many ingredients for becoming a nomination for oscar… but dont know why this missed out! sad state … may be due to politics!
