C.V. SANTOSH writes: Vayam, a “clique” of like-minded people working as an interface between the people of Mysore and NGOs has organised “Mysooru Unplugged”, a cornucopia of events on Sunday, April 29, at the Open Air Theatre in the University of Mysore.
The objectives: to raise funds for charity, and to create awareness among the youth and citizens of Mysore about their social responsibilities.
Fusion music, dance, skit, fashion pageant, and kalaripayatt are among the items listed at the mega event. Vayam hopes this event “by Mysoreans for Mysoreans” would in turn help develop a model which others in other cities would want to successfully replicate.
Those interested in being part of this young brigade, feel free to join Vayam or help Vayam achieve its dream. For further details click on the Mysore Unplugged website, or call Sourabh Shukla ( 98860-09445) or Kishore K.S. (phone 98802-74742).
Check out the group Swarathma who play at 7:00 PM at Mysooru Unplugged. They play kannada and hindi songs mostly.
I think they are among the best of the newer bands around now in Bangalore (personal opinion of the anonymous guy).

Swarathma :) i read a lot about them. I was eager to see them also. this was the first time i was going to see them. i took the last seat in the open air..right behind the DJ system so that i can get a clear audio. i was settled there not to get up till 10.00 … i had my autograph book ready for i was sure i was going to meet them af i was ter the show.dissapointed as they started at 9 pm. i had to wait till then. It was fine for the shere music i thought. ok so they started…oops.. the bas guitar and the drums messed up and i was like, what are they playing :O surprised and sad.. i kept listening. The main singer started and i was thinking may be he will sound good. his voice being good. Sadly, for some reason he was finding it difficult to keep up to the scale.everything was now seeming to fall apart. publinc were enjoying, but even with a very little knowledge of music, i found it very difficult to stick to my seat.i was pitying the quality of crowd.
in one of the songs, there was some notes being said by the performers, and they dint look correct too. Then the violin started. missing couple of beats every now and then, the drummer sitting in the side was trying to keep up with the pace but cudnt.. it looked like a complete confusion. The only guy who was doing a very good job in the whole gang was the lead Guitarist. i was a bit surprised that the people i was eager to meet had this amazing “quality”.. i walked off the auditorium as the lead singer was jumping and the public cheered. Absolute chaos is what i felt about them. Maybe if people work on st

Dear Mr. Zik Zik,
We are very glad to receive such a critical response to our show (in Mysore on 29th April), infact it is the first one like this, so far. Sorry for having disappointed you with our performance, we’ll learn more, practice harder and try our best next time. I’m glad you liked our guitarist, he definitely is good.
I must clarify that we starting late (at 9pm) is not our fault. And I guess the ‘crowd’ is not exposed to good music that they had to bear with our compositions.
We’ll try to improve our “Quality” (as you’ve mentioned) and hope to have you in our future performances. It’ll be great to receive your comments again.
Thanking you
