Oh, fish! Only chicken for the boys in blue

A three-page diet chart provided by the Indian cricket team management to the Cricket Association of Bengal reportedly imposes a blanket ban on red meat—which includes fatty meat from sheep and goats—and all fried foods.  The fried food ban is understandable, but red meat? Do all other teams , starting with, say, Pakistan, have such dietary restrictions? Are there are good solid reasons for this, or is this just a typical over-reaction following the World Cup debacle?
