One hundred and seventy-five days—six months—after it heralded a pre-monsoon shower of rupees for its producers, Mungaaru Male is finally beginning to catch the attention of the mainstream media. The Telegraph, Calcutta, has a piece on the film’s star Ganesh today.
“An industry that is almost militant in its opposition to non-Kannadiga actors or even films has a Nepali poised for stardom.”

Isnt Rekha Das the comic actress also a Nepali? Can someone confirm this for me! She speaks very good kannada too…
its true she is from nepal.
That article has too many discrepancies, a defamation suit magnet!
The article seems to focus heavily on where Ganesh’s forefathers came from rather than his or the film’s success/talent/achievement or even Ganesh’s spectacular rag-to-riches story. Why should his ancestors place of origin even matter? Ganesh is as much a kannadiga as any other kannadiga born and brought up in Karnataka. I am pleasantly surprised that he is playing up his Kannada heritage more than his forefathers’ although it might have been “fashionable” to go around touting his origins. Ganesh’s attitude towards his adopted country and state is something that the new immgrants to our state can try to emulate. That is called “assimilation”. If only there was more such assimilation, we would not have to fight for rights, culture and language of the local population. Wish Ganesh success and a bright future in Kannada filmdom.

Adakamaranahalli boy is really making news. But the current news is that, we have IT raids on office and house of producer of Mungaaru Male!!
If you produce a hit, IT will hit!!!
Sir, In the extract why have you highlighted the observation of “militant” reference to kannadigas? why should we highlight such things ourselves, when it is not true.
Anyways, we must showcase Ganesh as the true kind of migrants we want in Bangalore.
