The Age, Melbourne, is reporting in tomorrow’s editions that the Australian government is contemplating deporting Dr Mohammed Haneef “immediately” to contain the political damage from the inept handling of the case.
“Our best option is to cancel the Criminal Justice Certificate, which was issued to keep Haneef here in Australia after we cancelled his visa, and that is my understanding of what our intentions are,” one Government source told the paper .
“Cancel the certificate and get this guy out of Australia. The story ends there and he can become someone else’s problem.”

Make him minister of Youth Affirs and Sports in Karnataka. Or at the Center.
It will fetch huge Muslim Vote to whoever non-BJP parties do it.

‘Kafeel typed email on Ghazi’
By S.A. Hemanth Kumar
Bangalore, July 20: In the first indication of his links with a terrorist organisation operating in Jammu and Kashmir, Kafeel Ahmed — a key suspect in the UK terror plot — is believed to have described the death of Ghazi Baba, a notorious terrorist belonging to the Harkat-ul-Ansar as “a great blow to the jihadi movement.”
“This is one among the hundreds of typed but unsent emails retrieved from Kafeel’s hard disk,” intelligence sources told this newspaper.
“Kafeel has not mentioned Ghazi Baba’s name. But in the letters, GB was mentioned several times in an encrypted message found in one of the typed but unsent emails. When the encrypted message was deciphered and analysed in the context of the timing and the circumstances in which Kafeel could have typed it, we could make out that the words GB meant Ghazi Baba,” the sources said.
An aerodynamics engineer, Kafeel is said to have conveniently camouflaged the name Ghazi Baba by using the words GB as Gama Byte, a terminology used in software technology to denote the capacity of a computer chip or a hard disk.
“No one can have doubts if an engineer keeps referring to Gama Byte, but in this case, GB was used by Kafeel to refer to Ghazi Baba,” the sources explained.
In this particular encrypted message — which has been partially deciphered — Kafeel is said to have expressed the need for more Ghazi Babas to carry on, expand and intensify the jihadi movement.
Ghazi Baba, whose name spelled terror in the Kashmir valley, eluded the security forces for several years, before he was shot dead in an encounter in the Dana Mazar area of Srinagar in 2003. A native of Bahawalpur in Pakistan, he belonged to the Deobandi sect among the Muslims. The hugely-built Ghazi Baba was instrumental in fine-tuning the jihadi doctrine by incorporating the concept of suicide attacks.
Sources said that Kafeel had not addressed the unsent emails to anybody. The sender and the receiver would be using the same password to open the e-mail.
The strategy was to ensure that he or the receiver are not identified by the intelligence sources.
BC,
We all know how radical Islam is an issue all over the world. It includes India as well. Nobody is questioning it (Well, except the crazy far-left !).
Here, the question was – Did Haneef get a fair treatment? I guess the answer is slowly emerging loud and clear. It’s very easy to get carried away by the ‘one-way’ ticket stories and blame a person of wrongdoing. The scumbags like Kafeel make it even more difficult for others from Muslim community.
One has to be extra careful before convicting someone ‘guilt by association’. Australia, as it slowly turns out, didn’t do a good job of it!
TS: India and Indians are least qualified to lecture on terror.
We are biggest victim of terror, and still unable to face it. Don;t expect every country will follow similar path.

I can say, either Churumuri is an idiot, or been infiltrated by by Jihadis.
2 Indians were caught after Madrid Bombing for selling SIM cards. Indian Govt did not pressureize Spanish Govt. PM did not loose sleep.
WAKE UP CHURUMRI. ITS YOUR STATE, WHOSE CAPITAL IS INDIA’S TECH CAPITAL AND NOW UNDER JIHADI SCANNER.
WAKE UP KANNADIGAS.
Dear Bc, it is not Wake up Kannadigas rather wake up Indians. When he eulogises GB ( not Mahatma Gandhi – the crusader of ahimsa ) you can understand the nature of that man. I may say that a criminal can be acquitted in the court of law for want of evidence or benefit of doubt, but the crime perpetrated by the individual cannot be forgotten. Sometimes it is the capacity of the defending lawyer that matters. If educated people stoop to this level, we donot know whom to believe.
Going by present mood, Haneef-muri sounds better than Churumuri for this blog!
Was it GB or DB . :)
Very happy that blog can breath free from now on wards with the deportation of Haneef.
This haneef guy does not want say his view on Iraq. He says he works a Doctor and can not afford air ticket and licks his father in laws balls to give him one way ticket. Most important he says he is a believer in Islam.. The fountain head of terrorist ideology.
Read what Australia said. let us deport him and let him become somebody else’s problem. India should cancel his citizenship and ask his family and father in law to go to Pakistan.
I read link shared by Koppal Haida.. KPS Gill commenting on Haneef.
Great article. Everyone who thinks Haneef is innocent should read it. Terrorism is a grave offense and it is not like parking violation.
Do not allow Haneef to become problem of India. India should set example by disowning Haneef till he is proved innocent. There is nothing wrong with that stance. When 2 hindus were charged for selling SIM card for Madrid bombers, India did not jump in to save them. They went through the due course of law and got released later. Manmohan singh should quote that case and should come out clean. Probably Manmohan fits in the category Thomas Jefferson warned of.
Sardar is better off with no education at all instead of educating himself so late in life with pornographic media journilsm. He failed India earlier by screwing up India to the bed of Bank of England. Now he is screwing up Indian diaspora by giving impression that India is an Islamist Republic.
Whether it is the innocence or ignorance of H, the Indian doctor community has suffered much . Enough of it. Leave him to lick his wounds. Misplaced sympathy will do more harm in the long run. Thank God, they were caught in the initial stages itself.
As a senior doctor working in a major hospital in the West, I have over the years have recruited junior doctors from Karnataka, but always had problems
with those who practice Islam. Despite my advice to them that they are doctors whose primary duty is to give care for patients, these doctors put their religious precepts and practices over their responsibility as doctors. I have come across a few who were so militant in their fervour for Islam, that I often wondered whether there is any point in them remaining as doctors. Many of them vocal, literally despised the country they reside and considered any one who do not measure up to their ‘Islamic yard stick’ as infidels.
Given the above background, I am not surprised that Dr Haneef and his friends were found on the other side of the law. Bloggers please remember that if Dr Haneef is released and deported it is because of fuzzy evidence which may not stand up to regorous scrutiny in a court in Australia, but not because he is cleared of any misdeeds.
I very often found it very difficult to convince the muslim doctors from Dr Ambedkar Medical College that they have come to the West, the society holds them in high esteem as doctors and it is their responsibility to live up to the expectation. Their prayers many times a day, their close association with fellow muslim doctors and their inability to understand other doctors of other faiths or no faiths at all meant that it was very difficult to make them understand that for a doctor in wards religion should take a back seat.
There will be fall outs, hospitals in the west would be extremely reluctant to employ muslim doctors form Asia. I would not be surprised if doctors from Bangalore would find their applications not getting favourable response from hospitals in the West, and indeed, Dr Ambedkar Medical College which has produced doctors of questionable loyalty may be flagged.
1. Prepare a welcome party at the airport, sponsored by the media of India+ churumuri team
2. recommend him for Amnesty “man of the year” award
3. Karnataka Ratna award to be intituted to him on 1st November for making us all proud!
RVG, you are right. CM should be briefed about it. We are living in a secular state. We can hit two birds with a single stone. In the Suvarna Karnataka Year a new title may be thought of.

During the investigation into the Madrid blasts of March 11, 2004, in which 191 civilian suburban train commuters were killed, the Madrid Police had arrested two Indians and questioned without arrest two Spanish citizens of Indian origin on suspicion that the SIM cards used by the terrorists for triggering the explosions had been bought by the terrorists from their shops. All the four were Hindus. The investigation indicated that they were not aware of the background of the persons to whom they had sold the SIM cards. They were, therefore, not charged and released from detention..
There was no campaign against the Madrid Police in India at that time. The Indian media did not try to create a drama over the issue. The Indian intelligence and investigative agencies did not adopt an un-cooperative attitude. No attempt was made by the government of India to exercise pressure on the government of Spain in order to secure the release of the detained Indians before the completion of the investigation.
Western counter-terrorism experts have expressed concern and resentment over the manner in which the government of India has been trying to exercise pressure on the government of Australia to release, before the completion of investigation, Dr.Mohammad Haneef, who has been arrested in Brisbane and charged with the offence of providing “reckless support” to a terrorist organization by allegedly giving his SIM card to his cousin Dr. Sabeel Ahmed of Liverpool, who has been charged by the British Police under Section 38(B) of the Terrorism Act 2000 that he had information which he “knew or believed may be of material assistance in preventing the commission by another of an act of terrorism”.
just thinking … how come every guy arrested anywhere in the world(whether innocent or guilty) for offences varying from terrorism to drugs to money laundering, has the habit of writing a ‘personal diary’? i mean what kind of person would write a diary?! i thought it was so out of fashion… didnt know people still wrote ‘diaries’..
how? why? how many of you write a diary? not me.
BTW GB I think,is Giga Byte and not Gamma Byte. B.C
