MARK BRADSHAW forwards us a set of stunning pictures. Not Ooty. Not Lonavala. Not Cherrapunjee. But our very own Sringeri. Believe it or not?

I would like to know if these are really photos of Sringeri. I have been around that place and have not seen such structures. Even the vegetation (tall pine-like trees) seems out of place.
I am pretty sure that these are not from Sringeri. Would be better to verify the sources of such photos before publishing.
NO WAY!
Its not Sringeri…. Its Bali, an Indonesian island.
Check out the link below and you’ll know.

Good ones. But a very old one indeed. Had seen this long time back freely circulated via emails.
Can somebody please tell me where is this sringeri. I was born and brought in Sringeri, but have not seen this ..
Sorry, where is this place in sringeri.
Sure it is a set of bogus pics. Only the thid picture seems to be really of Sringeri. The rest not. Look at the pine like trees in the first two photos and you want us to believe that it is sringeri. There should be a limit of one’s imagination.
Vow! Don’t fool us.
i do believe i’ve seen these pics before….only they were part of a Fwd about china.
May be Sikkim?
I thought this was in outskirts of Bangalore
Thankfully this is not Sahyadri hacked up!
I think KSTDC should publish this picture and conduct treasure hunt within Karnataka to find this place with 1 lakh cash prize.
why do people fool like this ? It is not Sringeri. It is some place in China. I have forwarded more pics of the place to KP. If he thinks they are worth publishing, let him do it please.
The person who can locate this in Karnataka, and find where it really is, should get an all expenses paid trip to this very place with him and his family in tow. Make the ticket one-way. Then send Mr. Bradshaw there as well to take pictures. Both may be considered for the “Áti vichitara puraskara”.
I am hoping these pictures of Sringeri are authentic. But by ‘our own Sringeri’ I hope churumuri did not mean the ‘Sringeri of their own imagination’ :).
@Faldo
The Sringeri of our minds, the one that exists in our minds. THis is perhaps the Sringeri they are talking about. Or are they asking to consider that Sringeri should become whatvever it is that these pictures represent? Either way, Sringeri is Sringeri.
Oh dear Kannadas. Dear o dear!
Pine trees in Sringeri…
who planted them and when?
To Anon:
Oh Dear Anon, its Kannadigas not Kannadas
Dear o Dear…
Guys,
Stop shouting….Its Bali, in Indonesia.
Those paddy farms…..its called Terrace Agriculture, is NOT practiced
in Karnataka in a strict form.
I bet the shirt on my back, it is not Sringeri. Clear cut case of foreign location with a local name
Guru, iiginnoo August allva, April inna bo doora aythe, Churumuri noDovarella kivige daasvaLada ova maDikonDavre kaNaNNa….
it is not bali, there are cocnut trees, not pine trees around Bali terrace paddy fields!
What is this? What next? Churumuri seems to be heading the TOI way. Are we-god forbid-witnessing the TOIisation of Churumuri? Hope not.
P.S. HOpe they have a print version one day.
folks, it is neither Sringeri nor Bali. It is Guilin, China.

Believe it or not? I don’t believe it, because it is not Sringeri. April 1 is far off!!!
It is NOT Sringeri. End of story.
Could someone share some real aerial view pics of Sringeri, Agumbe, Koppa, Thirthalli etc.?
I wonder how the towns with the surrounding countryside shot from above look. I guess Sringeri is too spread out now for that. Would be great if someone had archived pics from earlier times…
