History is famously said to repeat itself, first as a comedy, then as farce. The political drama in the theatre of Karnataka may yet prove history wrong, but P. Mahmud has few doubts in this week’s Sudha.

The end of what? Chicanery, dynastic politics, corruption, skullduggery? Even if one of these tragedies is over, Karnataka will be infinitely better off.
Paapi Cheraayu
The end of one thing is the beginning of another thing and that is the law of nature. Whatever may be the gimmicks and other things, if an election is declared it is not the political parties that suffer it is the cmmonman that suffers and the exchequer has to spend nearly 600 crores for the elections. You are not sure whether any party will get majority or in case of an hung assembly again it is the people who suffer most.
What a fall, my countrymen, my countrymen!
From Suvarna KA, progressiveness and KA are synonomous-KA is another word for progressiveness, Karnataka the great, the forward-looking state and so on to this. Well, if this continues, all investment will go to other states and existing projects will slow down, be derailed or come to a halt. New investment will go elsewhere and KA will get into a rut of derailed projects, agitations, and political instability. A la Goa.
Do not allow the Maharashtrianization of KA. DO not let KA become the Maharashtra of South India.
