With the BJP and JDS on the threshold of power once again, a predictable metaphor being used by the media is of “re-marriage”—and a second honeymoon.
‘Maru maduveya kshana ganane,’ (countdown for remarriage) goes the tagline of TV9, the 24-hour Kannada news channel, for instance. But re-marriage implies husband and wife coming together once again, not a switching of sexes!
So, is B.S. Yediyurappa the bride or the groom as he crosses the altar today?
Feel free to keep your tongue firmly in your cheek.

No doubt Yediyurappa has realised his one point agenda of becoming the Chief Minister at any cost but he has inherited a difficult legacy left by his predecessor. It is reasonable to expect that his first few months will be spent in visiting many temples and Swamis to pay homage. It would be interesting to watch in what way he is going to copy Kumaraswamy’s lead of staying in various villages. For all the problems besetting Kumaraswamy he did make a mark as a successful CM and his rating was good and it is this legacy that will be challenging to Yediurappa. The initial task of the coposition of his cabinet would be a daunting task. Next comes the uncertainty of whoever becomes Dy CM Yediyurappa has to be watching every move of his for he may try to poach on his turf to make JD(S) followers satisfied. More over he will be incharge of finaance if previous understanding holds good and he may unilaterally annouce investments which will put Yediurappa in trouble.Above all he has to be always looking over his shoulders to see how Deve Gowda who has been worsted for the present what strategy he will adopt to unseat him prematurely. All together Yediurappa may find that sooner than later euphoria of becoming the CM may disappear for it is not a bed of roses for him. However, for the media and the people it is a fertile area of guess work and betters may be already active. In all this where is the time and energy to pay attention to the governance is to be seen. If he is able overcome these problems and succeed, it will be to his credit to make BJP popular because it appears to be the prime motive of the leaders of the party in building presssure on the UPA govt to lift the President’s rule

There was also a pic in the papers of Yeddy falling at daddy LK Advani’s feet before being sworn in- sooooooo cuuuute – was like Rama falling at his dad’s feet before going off on his vanavasa hike and vanquishing Khara and Dhushana ( wonder who that would be?!)- or was it like that lovable poodle O Panneerselvam of TN falling at Party Supremo Jayalalita’s feet in similar circs- I wonder now !:)

Did you get huge money from CPIM for not publishing Nandigram terror by CPIM? Are you not ashamed for being quite on Nandigram killings? Are you having wine provided by CPIM? Do you support Nandigram Killings? If it happens with your family are going to be mum because Killers are communists? Lot of questions. If you born to your father go to nandigram and support farmers who are killed by CPIM. Open up the brutality on CPIM communist cadres on woman and innocents. If you are not born to your father go and suck CPIM leader’s feet.

I know this is not the thread to post this, but since someone has already posted something on Nandigram I will continue on this.
Why is Churumuri soooooo silent on the happening in Nandigram. There is not even a single posting on the state of affairs in Bengal.
Are we reading your hidden agenda.

why was the govt not using police, why did it outsource “law-and-order” to party and a militia of its cadres? how on earth does a party have a militia that carries advanced weapons automatic weapons and all, that even the state police does not have?
also check editorials and articles in the telegraph.
http://www.telegraphindia.com/1071112/asp/frontpage/story_8538589.asp#
The Red Army recaptured all the Nandigram villages in a final, lightning offensive this evening while the state government pitched in by holding the just-arrived CRPF back at Tamluk.
Some 450 cadres crossed the Bhangabera and Tekhali bridges around 4.30-5pm and advanced towards the Opposition “fortress” of Sonachura, firing from behind 600 captive Bhoomi Uchchhed Pratirodh Committee supporters whom they used as human shields. By 5.30, Sonachura had fallen without resistance.
and then check this out.
The local police had already been instructed to stay inside the barracks. District police chief S.S. Panda, too, was stopped at Chandipur as he headed to Nandigram, the officer said. “He had to return to his Tamluk office.”
wow!! has to be a first for india, these guys can teach the taliban a thing or two.

Dear Editor,
Mr Karat the con man of CPI has called Mr Bush a FOOL. Can any body call our Indian President. Prime minister, UPA leader, CPI leader and our Ministers A FOOL and get away with it? There will be bundh, public transport will be destroyed, and trains will stop running and dharana in front of the respective Embassy. What a paradox.

TS good point well made. CPI(M) is now a private army (PMC) with a political wing. Why blame only Modi for abusing office? whether communal or a communist, they are one and the same.

It is unlike a conventional marriage. Both husband and wife tend to get rich while staying married and what you make is what you keep…no alimony business here.

I think everybody sees that the looting combine has come back to power to bleed the state as much as possible in the next eighteen months and that in the next Vidhanasabha elections no party will receive a mandate to rule.
The question is: Is our Kannadanadu so bereft of sense and good will that we can do no better than having a chief minister who touches every kaavi clad person’s feet and visits every templet as did the one before him and just as devoid of dignity and thinking ability?
Look at the amusing use of the word “legacy” in the first post. No stretch of the imagination can associate that word with any of the bandits on the third floor of Vidhaanasoudha, now or before. An executive branch soiled beyond words, a legislature with no self-respect (“The High Command, Sonia Rani, will tell us what to do;” Ella dodda gowdara ichche;”

Rise of BJP at Karnakata is a historic day in Indian Political history. Let the spirit of greatest Indian Empire, the Vijaynagar, inspire them to bring prosperity, culture back to Karnataka (and India).
Bangalore, the technology capital of India, is now being ruled by Indian Nationalists. They are ruling/have strong presence in India’s financial capital Mumbai and political capital Delhi.
Its expected JDS will slowly dither away as happened elsewhere and Karnataka will become part of national 2 party state which is the need of the hour.
Special mention should be made of ANIL KUMBLE, who attended the swearing in ceremony. It needs lots of GUTS of a current player, specially Indian Cricket Captain to attend these political functions.
ANIL KUMBLE: You have shown some real courage.

the great conspiracy is how no press was allowed to the area while all this was happening. how cpm stage managed who sees what. the greater conspiracy is how there is no outcry in the media about this.
no press, no images, and no face to the tragedy. so far it is not even clear how many have actually died. no concrete numbers.
all the truth telling will now be relegated to “commissions”.
i dunno how effective such commissions generally have been, but even in 1/2 of what is said in this program on anti sikh riots of delhi and the cover up that ensued is true, then we all no how nandigram is going to end up…

why did the people not return after after buddhadeb said it will not happen without farmer’s consent?
from where did cpm militia get such advanced weapons?

As I was watching TV, even after long years of CPM rule, it is sad to see people of nandigram so poor and deprived. This is how the so-called pro-poor party has brought WB to such a pathetic and miserable state. Also it is amazing that CPM has created a private red army with weapons and goes on capturing villages shows the true colors of fascism and dictatorship prevalent in that party. How can central govt. not take action against such private armies? CPM’s false moral and intellectual mask has been uncovered.

Ydiyurapaa is neither a ‘Chiranjeevi nor Chiranjeevi Sowbhagyavati’ He is a ‘Chravirahi’ a forlorn lover who can never be united with his beloved in spite of performing Homa, Havana , and visiting temples and Mutts to placate the Gods , planets.
After all, the royal astrologers fell flat on their face as their prediction proved to be false for Yaddi because they calculated the effects of stars, planets and other heavenly bodies but failed to note the evil effects of a deadly comet Devegowda. , Yadiyurappa added one more D to his name to welcome the lady luck but it only brought doom to his long cherished dream of heading the state.. Alas! he lost his throne with in a week as H. D, the walking evil spirit in the political arena of Karnataka proved to be stronger than all the planets put together. The evil influence of H.D, the most dreaded figure that can upset all the calculations of astrologers, prediction of political pundits and mercilessly mar all the moral and ethical code of conduct for the welfare of his family , once again had a last laugh on the day of trail of strength that left Yaddi high and dry on the floor of assembly.
Now Yaddiyurappa is just a `Chira virahi ‘and people of Karnataka are mute, hapless witnesses of the sordid political drama

Why people are deviating from Yaddi-Kumar issue of Karnataka to Nandigram?
If Naxlites join hands with Mamta banerjee of Trinamool Congress and kill people, may be of CPIM cadres or ordinary people, is it a hilarious task? If someone enquires, who gave Naxalites the sophisticated arms, the answer is wellknown to him. He might have also known Purulia arms dropping for Anand Margis. Who is/are behind this?
