Simian row sparked by slip of the mother tongue?

Did Harbhajan Singh really call Andrew Symonds a “monkey”?

Or is this all a horrible communication gap caused, a) by the thick mop of hair around Roy’s ears, b) by the different languages spoken by the two cricketers?

E.R. RAMACHANDRAN writes that a contributor on Orkut has this smart interpretation of the raging Simian row:

“Bhajji would have most probably yelled ‘Maa ki‘, which Symonds mistakenly heard as ‘Monkey’!”

Problem solved? End of story?
