CHETAN KRISHNASWAMY forwards a portfolio of telling pictures (source unknown) of a coolie at the Kalasipalyam bus stand in Bangalore using a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle (kerb weight 132 kg) to show the world what it takes for a common man without e-sops, sweat equity and fringe benefits tax to worry about, to make twenty rupees, in the Bharat id est India.
… And how are YOU saying that the coolie doesnt crib about his pay?
Dear author,
“e-sops, sweat equity and fringe benefits tax” whats your problem with these ??? people who enjoy these at least do not do daylight robbery like the POLITICIANS.
U are an hypocrite of nth order. Isn’t it a violation of Motor vehicle act ??? May be its OK to break the law as he does not get ” e-sops, sweat equity and fringe benefits tax “
MR CHETAN KRISHNASWAMY, after seeing the photo hope you have stopped looking at your salary figure.
Very Nice one.
Made me recall P Sainath’s book “Everyone likes a good drought”.
Sainath mentions about “men who cycle 25 Km with charcoal, weighing many times their own weight. If people like them, get opportunities that we got, How much more would they achieve?”.
I can only hope the Bike-Rider would remember this carrier’s effort.
U are an hypocrite of nth order. Isn’t it a violation of Motor vehicle act ???
What’s his Iypocrisy?
What provision of Motor Vehicle Act does this act violate?
Very thoughtful. Thanks for sharing!
Post is totally irrelevant.
1. It is foolishness to equate all sorts of work or to think that physical labor should earn more. If it was always the case, humans would have been the same old hunters and this blog might not have been existing.
2. It is the worker’s choice to reject carrying the bike on top of the bus, which might be detrimental to his health.
Coming to e-sops and such, what is your point? Do people who get e-sops need to haul bikes to their 10th floor offices?
Okay Guys the tirade starts..
Down with Narayan Murthy and Infy. What are these people doing sitting in AC offices asking for Tax holidays and grabbing land. Can their softwares help this coolie. Also shame on the caste system created by Manu. Shame on BJP and RSS. Shame on Hinduism. Shame on the Brahmins.
Stupid article! What has IT salaries got to do with this lifting of a bike!
Churumuri blogs are becoming asinine by the day…
I suggest churmuri should stick to writing blogs about making Maavinakaayi Chitranna on Ugadi, instead of writing about subjects it cannot comprehend.
Guy hoists a bike on a bus.
And the guy who forwarded the photos connects it to something irrelevant but maybe something bothering him.
WTF.
Mayura, why don’t you take your asinine comments somewhere else?
I have scanned this piece from top to bottom, from bottom to top, from left to right, and from right to left. As far as I can see neither Chetan Krishnaswamy nor the Churumuri dudes seem to have implied any reference to “IT salaries”. Please enlighten on us how you reach such asinine conclusions.
e-sops, if you are not getting any, is employee stock options, not electronic sops.
If you cannot see four pictures of a human being carrying a motorcycle on his head without marvelling at how he easily does it and without wondering for how little he does it, then I suppose your mind is closed to the mysteries of the world.
>>Mayura, why don’t you take your asinine comments somewhere else? >>
Why? Do you have monopoly of commenting on this site? If you dont want to read my comments you dont have to :)
Just because you are daft, and incapable to understand the oblique remarks churmuri is trying to make on IT fraternity, do not assume others are also in the same class as you.
>>e-sops, if you are not getting any, is employee stock options, not electronic sops.>>
Wow…good for you..you seem to know what esops are…at least.
>>If you cannot see four pictures of a human being carrying a motorcycle on his head without marvelling at how he easily does it and without wondering for how little he does it, then I suppose your mind is closed to the mysteries of the world.>>
My argument is not against a person carrying a bike on his head and how much he charges for it. It is against churmuri unnecessarily linking esops, sweat equity et all to these photos and making a blanket statement.
@PK, Its pretty obv who the whipping boys of this blog are …unless u dont comprehend or intentionally ignore the jab, then its ur mistake.
Friends
Today morning I saw a sad sight at a construction site near my home. The site has sheds with tin roofs for the workers. Early in the morning, everyone in a family was up (probably they did not even sleep in the heat of the night). The man of the family was having a bath in the open and the mother was washing the kid. Preparing for another day of hard labour. I thought, what a life and why did it have to be so.
The software industry is not to blame. The pathetic politicians esp. produced by the Nehru-Gandhi family might be partly responsible. Maybe its just karma. Whatever it is, its sad to see ones own countrymen in such a plight. I wept for most of the morning
Krishna,
Your assumptions might be wrong. Those are the people who will have a sound sleep. and it is not for IT. Construction workers stay close to the sites. Their kids have the highest level of immunity.

Mr Aashadabhoothi, I don’t understand the relationship between Hinduism and this issue. Please be clear.
