KAUSHIK PATEL and BINA PATEL write from London: We are urgently seeking a blood group match for our 20-year-old son, Mitesh Patel, who is a late stage cancer patient suffering from Primary Medistinal NHL. Our doctors at Hammersmith hospital in London have searched the national register and international bone marrow registries and have been unsuccessful. His sister too is not a match.
What we urgently require is a donor for the transplant. Mitesh’s situation is very grave and the worry is the GIV (gemcitabine, ifosamide and vinorelbine) regime is not working as his LDH has risen to 671 in the past week. We would be very grateful if you could help us find a match for him.
Mitesh was very well up until October 2007 when he started university. He developed itching, initially in his feet, which then gradually over a period of weeks spread over his whole body. The itching was very severe and prevented him from sleeping…. His symptoms remained stable until February 2007 when he started to get increasingly tired and short of breath on mild exercise. He also noticed a cough.”
Our address is 31, Allington Road, Hendon, London, NW4 3EA
