Life is too short to zip around on dirty bicycles

The bicycle is the bridge-on-wheels between childhood and adolescence. Freedom and self-esteem, mobility and adventure, pride and preening, not to speak of boundless joy and a sense of ownership, all take flight with the first kathri-pedal.

At the Tajnagar kere in Hubli, on Saturday, the monsoon rains provide the requisite wherewithal for some “single-owners” to give their machines a thorough once-over, while the youngest of the lot finds his own source of fun in the rain.
