Saubhik Chakrabarti in The Indian Express:
“It’s a 25-crore rupee question (thank you, A.B. Bardhan) whether Manmohan Singh or L.K. Advani will claim victory after the July 22 trust vote. But whatever happens it would be hard to call Singh a weak prime minister again. And whatever happens, it would be a good point to start asking whether Advani is a weak party leader.
“Singh finally managed to force the UPA to take a call on the price to be paid for a certain kind of political support, a leadership gambit that will survive a trust vote loss because it rests on a fundamental appraisal of politics and policy. Advani, even if the government loses the trust vote, will have failed this leadership test.”
Read the full column: Weak PM in waiting?
Also read: Is Manmohan Singh our weakest PM?
Manamohan is a weak Politician, with out any experience, he is fit only to be ruled not to rule. Adwani is a strong & experienced politician, who is fit for the job.
A pathetic attempt to draw comparisons when there exists no room for such a comparison.
It is a myth that Advani is super strong. Just dig a little deeper and you see an entirely different story unfold.
Advani made that famous foot in the mouth remark of Jinnah. Not a single BJP member came to his rescue. He was forced to step down as President of the party/
Thats how strong he was.
Uma bharti roundly reprimanded the leadership of Advani in full glare of TV cameras.
Thats how strong he was.
Shiv Sena didn’t bother to support BJP’s presidential candidate Bhairon Singh Shekawat. Advani looked on helplessly as Shiv Sena supported a Cong nominated president.
Thats how strong he was.
Advani claimed that he did not know Jaswant singh escorted the dreaded terrrorists to Aghahistan. This meant that former PM Vajpayee did not trust his deputy.
Thats how strong he was.
Nationalistic Manmohan has fiercely struck to his nuclear deal position. Advani had no qualms of putting Ram mandir on the back burner for the sake of power.
Thats how strong he was.
In Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati single handedly, started eating away at the vote bank of BJP, which is now reduced to a marginal player in UP.
Thats how strong he was.
there are several more examples.
Nice red herring, but this is an irrelevant comparison since MMS wont get a second term anyway, it has to be the crown prince.
But since you have started it, Question, I would like to see some more strengths of MMS. It is the easiest to find out weaknesses of others, let us see strengths of the two.
N
Manmohan Singh is the Father of Liberalisation in India
At this juncture, forget about Dr. Man Mohan Singh’s strength and weaknesses. Let us make our own SWOT analysis. There is a lesson for all of us to learn from this. If we want a strong nation, there should be a strong party, which gives a strong P.M., whosoever it may be, So Whenever the next Gen. election may take place, please think about the Khichri govts and the havoc and instability, tamasha they create. Please throw the all and sundry parties to Bay of Bengal or Arabian Sea. AB, BC, DD, EF, GH, ABC, BCD, EFG, HIJ, KLM, PQR, XYZ etc. etc. How many parties are there now? 30, 40 or 50?!! We don’t even know the full form of many parties. Bisi Bele Bhath, Kadamba Mixed Veg. subzi comprising ten kinds of vegetables may be tasty, but we survive only on Rice & Sambar or Dal & Roti. Please vote either for BJP or Congress.
And PVNR? Surely he deserves credit there? Assuming this is his strength, fat lot of good it has done fr him as PM.
@Question:
Manmohan singh is NOT the father of liberalization. It was PV Narasimha rao.
As we have aptly seen in the current economic situation, MMS (with his other two stooges PC and Montek) dont know one end of economics from the other.
And no the current economic crisis is NOT due to Oil going thro the roof. Our Eco was going down the shit hole long before Oil went thro the roof.
KcOO1
no. narsamiha rao was the god of liberalisation. Manmohan singh was the father of liberalisation
and no, our eco was doing well on all counts before the oil went through the roof
Hey Question AKA WrongFacts AKA CONgress spokesperson…..
Today a couple of Karnatka Congress MPs are quoted to be defying the whip of the HIGH COMMAND and vote against the govt. Does that make Sonia a weakling??? Or the left walking out of the matrimony at the crucial time, does that make her weak??? After all she was credited with forging this marriage of convenience….
Well, old chap, saying things which you feel is right and then owning upto it is not certainly a weakness. Today we have pakistan.. but back in the pre independence days, Jinnah had same clout as several muslim leaders are having today. And compared to all the rabidly religionalistic mullahs and maulvis who are in charge at pakistan, Jinnah would come out as a poster boy for secularism!!!!!
If the MMS government takes a call on cauvery issue favouring karnataka, do you think DMK would continue to support the govt??? Obviously no. Right?? That is because of the regional chauvanistic sentiments we carry. So do you expect the maharashtrians to vote against a maharashtrian for the top post of the country?? I know the FACTS you quote are always WRONG, never knew them to be absurd!!!!
Uma Bharati became a political nobody the day she walked out of BJP. And anyone who deserts a party will say things like she said to be in the news. If you were to start commenting on absurdities like this, there is no end. For your information, even the Great Indira had to face similar attack on her during her hey days.. it never made her weak, right???
I have quoted in one of my earlier message that the political landscape of UP has changed so much in the past few years that it is very difficult for a national party to gain back what they had in 80’s and early 90’s. If you think BJP is sidelined in UP, Congress is eroded in UP. This is like the situation in Tamil Nadu. So blaming Advani alone for this is not in good spirits Dude.
And Dude, Nuclear deal is the last face saving mechanism for this inept government. After bungling for four years, they had nothing else to show. Last ditch effort to get the sympathy working for them. And you say that MMS is valiant, strong etc etc. Just like your portrayal of Rajeev as a martyr.
Take a break dude…..
MMS is a weak, old man. He need three dose of 30+ .
In his address to the nation on the day Petrol price were raised, he confirmed he has lost it.
Instead of giving an inspiring speech on how to reduce consumption, he was
just giving some dumb talk.
I say that he is a Pseudo prime minister
Chintaka (a rare mix of communist and communalist)
You keep repeating moth eaten falsehoods. Can’t really help if you are in a state of delusion
Question, this talk of god and father etc is just playing with words.
MMS has not done anything noteworthy during this term – unless I forget. Of course the newspapers remind us of the gentle doctor, the economist and his integrity, but I suspect he is but a pawn and that one thing takes away any strength of his. If liberalization was entirely his idea he has done nothing to show that it was his brainchild. Indeed he has allowed the left (and obviously with a wink and nudge from the top queen) to run him into the ground. All of which is good for the congress (guess who it is bad for) when the crown prince is ready to run, aunty incumbency will say adios to MMS.
Since we are talking potential next canditates, let us talk about Maya, Rahul G and Advani and probably some other dark horse?
Another addition to question’s list of qualities of MMS.
This guy lied to the Election commission, that he was a resident of Guwahati, to secure a Rajya Sabha seat. But he was caught pants down by the Election Commission.
That would qualify him to be a honest politician as per “Questions” standard.
Saubhik Chakrabarti’s article is just plain stupid.
MMS is and has been a bureaucrat. He is not a politician and there is no point in comparing him with any politician. Instead try comparing with another bureaucrat.
Ask the Chinese
Beijing 2008: China invites Sonia, not PM or Prez
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Beijing_2008_China_invites_Sonia_not_PM_or_Prez/articleshow/3233667.cms
Question… come on dude, you should have stuck to your old name…. WrongFacts….how apt it was for you…
Anyways, you know what is the latest??? China inviting Sonia for the Olympics and not MMS. Shows how STRONG MMS is… right???
Even our neighbours know who is the REAL head!!!!
Congress mouthpiece question says
Manmohan Singh is the Father of Liberalisation in India
We were forced to liberalize by WB AND IMF because we had to mortgage gold because of the bad policies of secular socialists for 45 years like license raj, corruption, quotas etc.
We had no choice. To give MMS or even congress looters credit is bizarre.
The only growth there has been in congress rule is that of swissbanks and hawala market.Where is this dream team of 3 geniuses right now?
India is growing due to private enterprise and despite congress corruption and stranglehold by congress neta-babu nexus. Not because of it.
Only people who benefit from crumbs from congress corruption will disagree
MMS is so strong
that he withdrew CBI case against Maya for support in perz election like he is making all deals now for support with all parties just like jharkand mukti-morcha suitcases scam
that he lost sleep for terrorists but cant do a thing to arrest terror bombers or hang afzal
that he called rahul a future pm to keep his job like a true former sallam saab babu.
By the way where are all the holy people who were lecturing MLAs in karnataka even though they were seeking reelection or giving voter right to recall.
Now we have horsetrading at center for a vague deal that will filll congress coffers and delay elctions to keep congress in power.
But all those pretentous fraud preachers who were lecturing 3 bjp mlas are hiding in their dirty ratholes feeding on congress crumbs
Chintaka (a toxic adulteration of Communist and Communalist)
It is not Sonia Gandhi’s fault if China invites her. If you think China knows who the real power centre in India is, well then it was an open secret that Bal Thackeray was the real power centre when Manohar Joshi was the CM of Maharashtra,…………the RSS was the real power centre when Vajpayee was the PM..and when it comes to namma karnataka..everbody knows the power centre is in Bellary..not Bangalore. tsk tsk….people living in glass houses, should not…….
1. You conveniently ducked my question, ” why did the vajpayee govt. not celebrate 25 years of Indira Gandhi’s Pokhran blast.”? Why did the BJP govt. insult the Pokhran first blast by not even remembering it, when they were in power?
2. On one hand you wail that, Cong is TOO SLOW on the BJP initiated golden quadrilateral project, on the other hand you say, cong is TOO FAST on the BJP initiated nuclear deal. Signs of a confused mind? Damned if you do. Damned if you don’t. Make up your mind Chintaka.
3. here we have a govt. which wants to put everything on to fast track (like railways and nuclear deal)..but somehow people like you want everything back in slow motion..so that we shall continue to lag behind other countries. WE have had enough of lazy, laidback govts, time for some quick, fast development work. We can’t waste a single day now considering the huge energy crisis facing the nation, with oil prices running high.
4. Again you are ducking the Jinnah issue. Why did not a single BJP member openly come out in support of Advani for his Jinnah remark? Why did the VHP oppose Advani? Why did RSS say nasty things about this remark? Why did the Sangh Parivar criticize Advani for this remark?
5. Uma Bharti is just one case you say? BJP has got the dubious distinction of being THE ONLY party where the president of its party was openly embarrassed by a show of defiance by a party member. Show me ONE another EXAMPLE where a member of a party has embarrassed the leadership in front of 100s of television cameras. It happens only in BJP! And worse, the party leadership buckled and brought her right back in after a few months, and then again she got the boot !!!!!!!! Which is why I say weakest leadership..not just weak.
6. Blaming Advani alone for the meltdown of BJP is not good? Well, what duplicity! If BJP wins, it is because of the leadership of Advani, if it loses, then all have to take the blame! Remember BJP came to prominence in UP, because or Ram mandir politics, the brainchild of Advani. And now that Ram Mandir factor is no longer working, who should take the blame?
7. I have NEVER every used the word ‘martyr’ for Rajiv Gandhi. You insist on force feeding that word through a pipe, through my nose. I have merely said, that Rajiv and Indira DARED to take tough action against the terrorists…(as a consequence they paid for it with their lives, sure they didn’t go to the battlefield). But their assasinations were a DIRECT result of the tough action on the terrorists. In contrast BJP crawled, when asked to kneel and played gracious hosts to the terrorists by escorting them to Kandahar.
Your weak and inept justification was that BJP was under tremendous media pressure to release the terrorists!!!!!!!! is that how strong a party is? to lose its convictions at the slightest hint of media onslaught? Answer me this: Media was also against BJPs communal agenda (you keep saying that all the time media is against BJP)..in that case why doesn’t BJP listen to the media and stop its hate politics? Lol. lol.
8. you did not comment on why the former Deputy PM claimed he did not know if Jaswant Singh was escorting the terrorists
9 This is for N. I am not playing with words. That is BJP’s territory to play with words (India Shining, Ram Rajya, pseudo secular, ‘weak’ PM, Dharma Yatra, Rath Yatra, that ….this….those….) Manmohan Singh was FM for 5 years….surely he should get some credit along with Narasmiha Rao. All good and bad work cannot be laid solely at the doorstep of the leader. Everybody takes a fair share.
10. Enough said I think.
And while on media’s role, here is a blatant case of the print media supporting BJP.
In today’s paper TOI headline screams: Lots of smilies in BSY’s budget msg.
In contrast, TOI headline screamed ” Election Budget” when UPA presented its national budget three months back.
I wonder why TOI did not feel that BSY’s budget too was an election budget….
Question…again getting the FACTS WRONG!!!!!
Let me explain you like this….
When CONgies presented the budget, it was a central budget… and elections to loksabha are scheudled to be held before PC could present his next budget. So this was a budget which PC made with elections in his mind….
Now unlike this Chor FM we have, who believes in doling out goodies only when there is an election round the corner, BSY has just assumed power and has kept up his words in the budget. You see, he did not wait for four years to dole out goodies with an eye on the votes… like PC did.
When you present a budget post elections, honouring the promises made in the election manifesto it evokes smiles. For a politician and a party who have kept up the promise.
On the other hand when you are cunning enough to do something just before the elections, people call it stunt, election budget etc and etc….
And before you jump the gun saying BSY did it with Loksabha elections in view, please understand this is a state budget and was made keeping in view the promises made during the election.
Hope you got this point!!!!!
Question AKA WrongFacts AKA CONgie spokesperson….
First and the foremost, communism is as much dearer to me as is CONgress… so your first assumption is WRONG…
If supporting hindutva and hindus is communal, Yes I am communal.. but it is far better than the cunning and devious methods adopted by secularists… you know for them BJP is communal but Muslim League is not…
Coming to the QUESTIONS you have raised…..
1. Do you read history??? I mean not the one written by the Romila Thapars and the Irfan Habibs of the world… Vajpayee had earlier said DURGA for Indira for the way she conducted herself during the Bangla war. And BJP did not call the Pokhran blasts by any other name.. They called it Pokhran II, in a tacit admission of the fact that they were not the ones who initiated this but some one else. This itself is a vindication of their stance.
2. If you carefully look at the entire drama that is being enacted in the nuclear deal, CONgress is trying to project an image that the nuclear deal is its brainchild. Nowhere have they mentioned, acknowledged, admitted that this was a deal thought of, initiated and proposed by BJP. The reason for this is simple. If they acknowledge this fact, credit goes to BJP. And CONgies will look like a bunch of jokers who are carrying forward something which BJP initiated.. right??? When such an admission is not forthcoming, how can you say that CONgies are doing something which BJP started… even if you have blinkered vision, it should not be to this extent. Right????
3. Oh brilliant!!!! Fast tracking nuclear deal, inspite of concerns raised by the parties, is good for the nation… if that is so, why are these losers fast tracking something which will genuinely benefit the people of this country?? Like golden quadrilateral project??? And pray tell me, where and when some one stonewalled the proposal to improve the railways?? Opposition is coming only for nuclear deal. Not railways.. Again WrongFacts!!!!
4. When BJP won in Karnataka, the credit went to BSY. When it won in Gujarat, credit went to NM. Did you come across anywhere Advani taking credit for these victories??? Did you??? WrongFacts do not make blabberings look intelligent…
5. Rajeev and Indira created terrorists and when they went out of control tried to some damage control exercise which boomeranged on them. Period.
WrongFacts, the problem is you are basing all your arguments on wrong facts, wrong assumptions, wrong information. When you have the RightFacts, debate.
Chintaka (An adulteration of Communist and Communalist)
BJP presented a hugely populist budget in its last year at the centre…get your facts right before making a laboured point about P Chidamabaram..
BJP has been presenting populist budgets in every state it is in power in its final year..whether in the state or the centre….
Each time you throw the boomerang at me, it comes back and strikes you in the face.
Meanhile, you didn’t bother to revert on my ealier long reply.
Chintaka (an adulteration of Communist and Communalist)
Here is a UNI report on NDAs budget in 2003-04
(http://www.newindpress.com/budget/2003/uNews.asp?Topic=217&Title=Overview&ID=IEL20030228051306&nDate=2/28/2003&Sub=)
Jaswant presents populist budget, provides several reliefs to salaried class
UNI
NEW DELHI: Finance Minister Jaswant Singh on Friday announced a host of sops for the common man in the budget 2003-04 including elimination of five per cent surcharge on personal income tax, increase in standard deduction, tax relief for senior citizens and persons with physical disabilities.
In his maiden budget, Singh retained tax concessions on home loans and left the income tax slabs unchanged.
In what may be construed as a harsh measure on pensioners, he reduced interest on public provident fund (PPF) and small saving schemes by one per cent, in line with the recommendations of the Kelkar committee on direct taxes.
He, however, fulfilled the long standing demand of government employees by restoring leave travel concession.
While doing away with dividend tax in the hands of shareholders, the Finance Minister left the corporate tax unchanged.
Motorcars, air conditioners and soft drinks are among the commodities that will cost less in view of reduction in excise duty.
The Finance Minister reduced the peak customs duty from 30 per cent to 25 per cent in line with the declared roadmap but proposed to retain the three-tier excise duty structure
Complying with the N K Singh committee report, he announced a package of incentives for the textile sector and reduced excise duty on a range of garments and fabrics.
Singh proposed an additional excise duty of Rs 1.5 per litre on light diesel and 50 paise cess per litre on diesel and motor spirits.
Delhi and Mumbai airports will be modernised to bring them at par with international standards. Similarly, two ports will be taken up for upgradation.
A number of steps have been proposed to ameliorate the condition of the workers in the unorganised sector.
Taking into account the leakages, Singh announced a committee to examine poverty alleviation and rural development schemes. Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had once stated that out of every 14 Rupees spent by the government for the poor, only one rupee reaches them. Education expenses up to Rs 12,000 per child for two children will be eligible for rebate under section 88 of the Income Tax Act.
To encourage creativity, the Finance Minister exempted from income tax royalty income up to Rs three lakh per annum received by authors of literary, artistic and scientific books. The exemption will also be available for individual for exploitation of patents.
Standard deduction for salaried employees is being raised to 40 per cent of salary, or Rs 30,000, whichever is less, for salary income up to Rs five lakh. A deduction of Rs 20,000 will be allowed for salary income above Rs five lakh. VRS payments will be exempted up to Rs five lakh, even when taken in instalments.
Tax rebate to senior citizens is proposed to be increased to Rs 20,000. As a result, their income up to Rs 1.53 lakh (Rs 1.83 lakh in the case of senior citizens on pension because of standard deduction) will henceforth become fully exempt from income tax.
Self-declarations filed by senior citizens, in regard to no deduction of tax at source, will be accepted.
Continuing with liberalisation of the capital account, the Finance Minister announced that overseas investments under the automatic route will be permitted to corporates be raised from 50 per cent of the net worth of the Indian company to 100 per cent.
Besides, the budget proposes to remove the current Rs 100 million dollar ceiling on prepayment of external commercial borrowing (ECB) dues.
Taking the reform process further in the financial sector, the budget raises the limit on FDI in banking companies from 49 per cent to 74 per cent. Moreover, it removes the limit of 10 per cent irrespective of the shareholding, on the voting rights of any persons holding shares in banking companies. Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) will launch a special pension policy to be called Varishtha Pension Bima Yojana. It will guarantee an annual return of nine per cent, in the form of a monthly pension scheme to be launched by LIC. The minimum and maximum monthly pensions proposed are Rs 250 and Rs 2,000 per month.
General service tax rate has been enhanced from five per cent to eight per cent, and levy imposed on ten new services.
A one per cent national calamity contingency duty is being imposed on polyester filament yarn, motor cars and two-wheelers and duty of Rs 50 per metric tonne on crude, domestic or imported.
General deduction of Rs 9,000 given to individual taxpayers having income from dividends and interest increased to Rs 12,000. An additional deduction of Rs 3,000 allowable in respect of interest from government securities.
Individuals and HUF carrying on business or profession need not deduct tax at source, from payments made by them for personal purposes.
The five per cent income tax surcharge has been removed for individuals and HUFs, except those earning an income above Rs 8.5 lakh, and halved in the case of corporates.
Those with incomes above Rs 8.5 lakh will have to pay 10 per cent surcharge.
A question to you Question… why did you change the name dude??? WrongFact was so much better than Question!!!! Suited you brilliantly….
You asked a question about BSY budget vis-a-vis PC budget. I answered that…. dont change the goal post. If your intention was to compare Jaswant Singh and PC you should have said so instead of doing a cut and paste job now.
Election to karnataka is five years from now. BSY presented a budget to fulfill the promises made during the election. So it is a smiley budget. You have a habit of getting the facts wrong and then screaming out loud….
You know what? China invited Sonia and not MMS. Why???? Because unlike you they clearly know where the power lies in this government. When Vajpayee was the PM or if Advani becomes a PM, the PM will be invited, not anyone else.
When CONgies feel that debt relief should be extended to those farmers who are left out in the original proposal, they dont run to MMS. They make Rahul Baba say that. Because they know that word from the Crown Proince of Dynasty will have a lot more effect than MMS speaking.
When petrol prices are to be decided Murali Deora rushes to Soniamma to get approval. Not to MMS.
When any chota MP wants to get anything done he will not go to MMS. He will beg to be given a time with the Queen Bee or the Crown Prince. Because even a first timer MP knows where the power lies.
It is only you who is pretending not to know this. Wake up dude.. reality is different from your dream.
So much for your long and boring speech as to how MMS is like SuperMan!!!!
Chintaka (a dangerous mix of Communist and Communalist)
You are as much of a communist as Prakash Karat because your party and the commies think alike on the nuclear deal. Both of you feel India’s sovergniety will be sacrificed at the altar of American bullying. Tsk…tsk…
1.. Three to six months from now, Lokh Sabha elections are due. If you continue to harbour illusions that this is not an election budget, then God help you. No finance mininster is ever going to say bluntly “yeah, this is an election budget.” All throughout India, state after state, is presenting a populist budget this year – from Rajasthan to Madhya pradesh to Andrha Pradesh. The reason is obvious: Every party likes to earn brownie points and get the maximum seats for his/her party for the Lokh Sabha elections.
3. Eerybody knows that Umesh Katti was the choice of BSY for the latest cabinet expansion. But the mining lords said “No: to Umesh Katti” . People are running to mining lobby to get their jobs done. So we know where the real power centre is.
If people run to Rahul or Sonia, there is nothing wrong with it. The party definitely has some say in the running of the govt. The party can prevail on the govt. to form people friendly policies. Nothing wrong with it. BJP Dissidence MPs and MLAs have a habit of running to RSS with their complaints against BJP govts. RSS, is not democratically elected. Sonia and Rahul are. So, they are 100% correct in involving.
4. If you think MMS is not his own man, here is something which will turn your naive argument upside on its head.
a) MMS went against the popular notion in the congress to not vote against Irain in the IAEA. Reason was the Iran was an old pal of India, and Congress could not afford to antagonise Muslim votebank. But MMS was firm. He said nothing doing and went ahead with his Anti- Iran plans. THat shows the steely determination, a quality of courage and steadfastness and resilience that one seldom finds in other leaders.
b) MMS is the sole champion of the nuclear deal with America. There was hardly any aggressive support for him within the congress, considering, again that left pals did not like the deal and more importantly Muslim vote bank would be upset with Congress for antagonising Muslims in India.
But MMS said nothing doing..and steadfastly pursued the nuclear deal, even though sonia silently hoped that there would be no crisis and MMS would not be so strongheaded about the nuclear deal. However, MMS stuck to his convictions and Sonia Gandhi and the party fell in line.
THIS SURELY SHOWS MMS CAN HAVE HIS WAY, IF HE WANTS.
On the other hand, we know BSY cannot have his way, because Bellary comes inbetween.
As for your other long (yawwn!) boring mail, i shall revert later. duty calls.
Chintaka ( an unhealthy mix of Communist and Communalist)
At every public debate on TV, every cong spokesperson has repeatedly accused the BJP of hypocrisy, because it was the BJP which started the process of relationship with America. CHeck every debate, every newspaper..everyone has openly accused the BJP of hyporcisy . Why this hyporcisy? because it was they who started the deal…and Cong had no problems in accepting it.
Congrats for accepting that Congress did a FANTASTIC thing with the Pokhran 1 blast. THank you for coming to my ship. However for all that Durga comment of Vajpayee, BJP DID NOT LIFT A FINGER TO CELEBRATE pokhran……..you repeatedly choose to igore it. BJP should have grandly celebrated Pokhran I ….f0r 25 fantastic years (silver jubilee)
By the way nuclear deal was not initiated by BJP. Read ADvani’s interview in Last weeks Hindu. Advani has stated that it is a myth that BJP started nuclear deal. BJP merely started normalising the screwed up relationhip with america.
My facts are never wrong. You mistake perception for facts. My facts are wrong. you can challenge my interpretation of the fact, but you can never challenge the fact itself.
THank you again for accepting advani’s role was a big zero in Karnataka’s election ….the tens of campaign that advani addressed was a huge waste then. this is the kind of respect bjp gives to its national leaders….such a shame.
LTTE was a terrorist organisation even before Rajiv became an MP. what a stupid comment to say Rajeev created terrorism. the fact is Rajiv and indira had the GUTS TO TAKE TOUGH stances …BJP has not shown a single instance of taking a tough stance.
Look at the irony.. Congress captures people like Abu salem and veerappan and BJP releases guys like that Afghan terrorist.
This is the basic differnce between cong and bjp
Question…blah blah blah blah….haven’t we heard the same lines from you repeatedly, again and again….
This column is to discuss the weakness of MMS. Not what BSY is doing or will do or was doing…
Answer specifically to the set of questions…
Party may have some say in the way a goverment carries on its business. But who is the head??? MMS or Sonia or Rahul??? If you think MMS is the head, why are people going to Sonia? Why is Rahul interfering in the affairs of the government? All said and done he is one among the 130 odd MPs CONgies have. Right??? So why should there be a special weightage to what he says???
There lies the crux of the issue dude….Rahul is the crown prince and MMS is just keeping the seat warm for him.. you get the point???? Even a galli congi worker knows not a single thing moves in the party without the say so of Mother and Son duo…and you are pathetically defending the strength of MMS???
The very fact that China invited Sonia and not MMS should be a slap on our nation’s collective face. Instead the spin doctors of congress are trying to patch up this event.
Like I told you, your old name was apt for you dude… WrongFacts….
Chintaka (a comical mix of Communist and Communalist)
Rubbish.
I just gave you two instances which showed MMS is his own man.
a) MMS went against the popular notion in the congress to not vote against Irain in the IAEA.
And if people run to Sonia or Rahul, why are you burning with jealousy? it is an internal party matter and they can give weightage to whoever they deem fit. Both Sonia and Rahul are democratically elected and if she has more say, obviously because she is the president of cong and head of UPA.
Uma Bharti was reinstated into BJP under pressure from RSS. What business does RSS have in poking its nose? Why is RSS more important than the president of BJP?
Look at the obvious difference: RSS is an extra constitutional authourity, but Rahul and sonia are democratically elected.
