Nude as they come
He does not look like MFH!!!. I hope he is not a muslim!!!
This artist is depicting our gods in nude.. Oh Bajarang dal.. Shiv Sena.. VHP.. the Saviors of Gods themselves.. Where art thee..
Is the clay man depicting Indian women? Accepted.
looks like either someone is trying to prove a point ( MF Hus) or Someone surely has a warped sense of humor
Worthy picture – Gods are created by Humans !!
??
@Anonymous,
DAVINCI CODE is the reply to your question. Go for it.
Beautiful figurines. No, can’t be MFH. If it were, the dude would have patterned the statues after his wife or mom — being a liberal and what have you — and then maybe they wouldn’t have looked that good.
This is a provocative picture- worse r some comments who equate it with “nude”.
Folks, there is sacredness associated with it. Try not to abuse that, make fun out of it.
@Tathagata Mukherji,
Whatever maybe the sacredness associated, the fact is ‘Emperor is not wearing the clothes !!’.

O Goddess, who exist in the form of Mother in all living beings, please accept my pranams.
i think it is in bad taste to peep into incomplete works. this is like publishing drafts, or leaking out incomplete manuscripts. many sculptors keep their works covered when they are not working on them. even in the temples when they do alankaara they pull the tere.
it is obvious the work is not finished. he still has to paint it – ‘varnishing’ the author calls it. i guess they make these forms and fit clothes later to get a more flowing form that can come from cloth. i guess unlike moorthys on gopuras which cannot be attended to individually on a daily basis, and are thus made covered in clothe, these idols will be attended to by people and so just creating the human forms gives the buyers the freedom to dress them up according to their own taste. its a lady for crying out out, how else would the clayman imagine her?
people trying to equate this to MFH is pathetic. MFH that is the final public form.
This is a moorthy- a form that is a template for people to present the lady according to their own desires.
in anycase looks like the clayman actually covers it up with a first layer of clothes at the point of sale.

Nastika>> ‘Emperor is not wearing the clothes !!’.
You forgot to recognize Her. She is universal Mother- protects, preserves all.
A child does not treat mother’s brest as Sex Organ.
God created man and woman naked! Humans only dressed them up! So there is nothing wrong if they undress them for their convenience. God only can save this form ART?!!
MFH paintinting showed less effects of 17β-estradiol. Looks like this artist has pumped 10 times more of the same!!!.
MF Hussain got away due to some clever advocacy by the Sibal and co.
One of the early fwds(which IMHO, or I’d like to believe, triggered the controversy) said clearly that those offending paintings were grouped along with other erotic paintings. While it is the intention of these creative arts’ creator that counts, did Mr. Hussain have any malicious intent while painting them?
Wonder why did not his creative mind made him paint nude Muslim and Christian deities?
Temple art are there for a purpose. It looks like as if the modern artists only care about the money they make out of the paintings and like the popular movies, they perfectly know what sells.
While most of the paintings need a big manual to explain us what those paintings are of, but these paintings in the issue are very conspicuous, very strange.
OK, I agree that all these are legacy from the erstwhile Queen’s reign, but I wonder why there are these suspiciously selective spurts of creativity?
“Wonder why did not his creative mind made him paint nude Muslim and Christian deities?”
Also makes you wonder how narrow minded Muslim and Christian thought can be especially with respect to people who dont share their beliefs. And what the world is headed to if more and more people start thinking along the same narrow minded lines.
I feel it is in bad taste to show pictures of incomplete figurines especially when some people hold these sacred.
*tarlesubba*
bravo! couldn’t agree with you more.
Photo is indeed in bad taste.
Will Churumuri dare publish photo of incomplete Santa Claus with his pants down?
Let us see..only three more months to go for Xmas.
Anonymous Guy(Are you the one who got Sarah Palin her popcorn? ;-) )
It is narrow as it gets.
Christians have this interesting custom of distributing Chakklis, sweets and other goodies on Christmas which is eerily similar to Iyengars’ practice in Gokulashthami.
In Mysore, the popular place for getting most part of the goodies is a shop named after Udupi Sri Krishna. How secular, no?
Hope their overlords don’t issue a fatwa over this issue.
Not a witty,
Was meant to be a rhetorical question :)
But whatever makes you happy.
Some people like to see things in their naked state or some would like to see them dressed or masked..It’s up to the individual. No one on this forum is in a position to judge which is good and which one is not.

god! just a pair of breasts and see how you all go!!! grow up men!
subbulakshmi,
Grown up men live for things like breasts and such things. As if you didnt know that.
Or did you mean – grow up to be so old that breasts have no effect on you?
