As inter-religious animosity in Karnataka travels from the coast to the capital under a benign and benevolent government which seems to think it was sworn into office to protect and promote only one community, an old woman sends up a prayer at the St Yagappa Church at Mariyannapalya which was attacked on Sunday morning.

Very easy to fall prey to politicians games…Kharge is day dreaming of coming back to power…innocent common man is made to fight amongst themselves…Sangliana already thinks that he is the Home Minister under Kharges govt!
OK, how many incidents of stone throwing the Ganesha processions you have highlighted and published pictures? How many incidents of temples being desecrated, idols stolen you have highlighted? Yes, taking a photograph and putting it is very easy. In Sathyadarshini, a controversial book, there are so many bitter remarks against Hindu gods and goddesses> Everybody is keeping mum. Why? At the same time, it is my firm belief that everybody has a rright to pray according to his belief. Do it. But trying to capitalize on stray incidents are always dangerous.
Churumuri is utterly biased in its coverage.
Forgive Churumuri Lord for they know what they do
Because according to these buddi jeevis, hindus are not humans…
only muslims and christians are humans, and have rights
Part of the reason most Hindus don’t feel outraged about the hateful attacks on churches is that they have a difficult time forgetting thousands of temples across the were centuries ago were violated by invaders of all kinds. What they have to do is realize the current religious violence will not right the wrongs of history for which no one living today, regardless of his religious beliefs, can be held responsible. Yet another reason might be that, again for historical reasons, India was never a country of one religion, not even a country for that matter until the British turned the subcontinent into a homogenous administative unit for their own purposes.
Forgiveness, peaceful co-existence are all wonderful cliches. The challenge is how to make them a reality.
One suggestion is that we not allow foreign money flowing into the country from the middle east and the West to fuel the religious fundamentalism of some Abrahamic faiths. What people believe is the source of their salavation is a private matter. But when religion decks itself out in ostentatious trappings, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, or whatever, we are in for trouble. There is perhaps a way to attract followers to Christianity by emphasizing the humane principles of Jesus; there is perhaps a way to drawing people to Islam by emphasising Muhammad’s principle of universal brotherhood and sisterhood of all people; perhaps there is a way of making people consider Hinduism by emphasising its “Sarvejana sukhino bhavanthu.” Unfortunately, every major religion in India seems to be infected with the cancer of jihadism. Public demonstrations of religious faith invokes paranoia and ancient, if unconscious, resentments. Let’s keep whatever faith we practice at home. No religion that even implies that those not of the faith should be destroyed is not a religion but an instrument of murder.
Turkey perhaps has already provided a model for keeping religion where it belongs.
Who is St.Yagappa?
Are you not going to publish the portions of ‘Satya Darshini’ book?
Are you not going to write on how Catholic youth systematically attacked Police from Church rooftops (clearly caught on camera)?
Are you not going to write about KFD’s involvement in Mangalore riots?
It’s unbelievable how media can equate Bhajarang Dal’s attack (only property destruction) to serial bombs by Islamic terrorists !! Only a dishonest secular media can do this.
Amazing photo, I must admit! Very serene.
She looks like progeny of devotees of ‘maari amma’ (the destroyer of demons). She looks just as radiant as the Durga herself.
Question is, is she praying because the pentecoastals and evangelicals are descending on town to make her stop praying to ‘Mary’ (as opposed to the destroyer of demons, ‘maari’)?
Please watch this video… very interesting.
@Gokulam,
must be a former MLA of the area :) Soon there will be innumerable number of ‘Saints’ propping up just like our swamis and mathas. I wouldn’t be surpised if some entrepreneurial fella starts a church of ‘St.Raghavendra swami’
@karihaida i will try to baptize it little
St. Rag wonder sawme ….
I wish to tell you a instance which happened in our village. In year 1983 (I was 9yr old) christ machinery (pun indented) people converted a village folk who used to work in our fields, His earlier name boraiah they later called benjamin boraiah. He was told to remove photos of all hindu gods from his house and his wife was told not to put “that red mark” on the forehead.
Further reading to of you “Dharmashree” by SLB
The area Marinnanapalya is 90% converts
please check http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8woHykQgB8 (Christian aggression in Cauvery Layout, India – Part 1) this comes near Hebbal behind the Esteem Mall, already there is Bethlehem church eating good portion of Nagavara lake, and small hill belonged to Jain community Occupied by so called converts(you can see this in night when lights are on),
Funny thing is i purchased a site from area next to it and (and from old survey documents i received from layout owner) here is some name which show how they are converts (may be from dalits whom govt alloted the Gomal land earlier)
Javarappa -bin Daveedappa(it’s David Kannaganised Christian name)
Martin Bin Javarappa
Gabiriel-Bin Mariappa ANthonappa uruf Abbaiah( so our Old abbaiah is now Anthony)
Arogyaswamy uruf Sandyagappa(again it is Kannadiganised Christian name for Sandiago :) )
So it follows
These are all Dalits given free land by govt next to Nagavara Lkae and now Christians,
If all watch the Youtube videos you will get good picture and how the situation was simmering within
Looks like Churumuri is also taking path of “buddijeevis”..!! How can u be such biased..?! Felt like reading URA..!!
St. Yagappa …yaakappa beku idella ninage>>>
St. Yagappa is well in line with missionaries’ attempt to sound indigenous when conferring names on their new followers. The word “Yaga” has such a respectable pedigree in all Indian languages. Inland Protestants seem to be much more willing to accept Hindu names than Catholics on the west coast due to the Portuguese introduction of the faith into that area.
BTW the bible is called “Sathya Veda” in Kannada, implying that all other veda’s are false.
You can’t beat christian missionaries/evangelists when it comes to deception.
Buddha, Jesus, Gandhi would not approve their followers’ tactics.
@ Karihaida…
Dont be surprised, these converts have not left Raghavendra Swami too..
Do you know of a telugu dancer/choreographer going by the name RAGHAVENDRA LAWRENCE????
Guys,
I am proud to be an INDIAN where people from different religions live in harmony .Dont let these politicians take our identity.
All these things are done with the pure intention of gaining something out of it. Dont let them.
I centainly wont.
Will the xtians stop bad mouthing Hindu Gods and insulting our culture ?
If they stopped doing that, maybe we wont have a reason to attack their illegally built churches that are converting people on false promises of jobs and medical cures.
are our own politicians just because to gain vote mercilessly scapegoating us. Dont they feel ashamed targeting their own people (only hindus) for the only fault of being patient to take all the brunt from various religions.
as per statistics in next 20 yrs there will be almost 65% of muslims in indian population followed by christians. The very existance of our religion is in a state of threat. I feel instead of targeting other community I feel we have to target & eradicate our so called political leaders who talk lot about minorities & their upliftment.
I appeal to all hindus irrespetive of their cast & creed to protect our identity by using all the thantra i.e sama-bhedha-dhanda & continue to show the world why we are considered the most sacred & divine religion with a strong base.
