In the gardens of Bangalore palace, an audacious “outsider” grabs the birthright of worms of the soil and makes merry. Meanwhile, in an unrelated development, Raj Thackeray gets ready to spend a night in the cooler, a few hundred kilometres away.

Should we nominate Raj Thackeray’s nephew?
Super photo !
I think I must be stupid or something, I didn’t get the message of this picture. Is that worm in the picture from a foregin land/country. Something like the parthenium plan that came from South America.

Opportunistic, crooked and shameless politicians like Laloo and Mulayam, many of them from Bihar and UP, have been slamming Maharashtra’s Congress-Nationalist Congress Party government for failing to nip Raj’s anti-migrant programmes in the bud. The fact is that Laloo intentionally avoided any railway recruitment ads (state quota) in the local Marathi languages. Incidentally, almost all the candidates specifically came in from Bihar. How did this happen? Why has no one noticed this?
While everyone is playing politics with the elections in mind, it has to be remarked that Maharashtrians are only trying to defend their own interests which is natural. It is the same trend in Assam, Tamilnadu and Punjab. Sadly, in Karnataka, it is only one weak organisation called Karnataka Rakshana Vedike that has been demanding jobs for locals. What is sad is that KRV itself has been criticised by the well heeled, pseudo-intellectual Kannadiags! Even more tragic is the fact that the others like Kannada Sena, Vatal group.. etc have been busy minting money in the name of Kannada language by threatening MNC’s, Mining & Liquor barons while grabbing real estate, kick backs and govt tenders.
The Central Govt is duty bound to implement the Dr Sarojini Mahishi committee report which says the lion’s share of vacancies should be reserved for local people in the recruitment of D Group employees in Railways. But the railway ministry under the pan-eating Laloo has been openly violating this rule! This year, the South Western Railways Entrance Exam for recruitment of D group employees was held twice in Bangalore and there was not a single advertisement in any local newspapers. The majority of the candidates were from Laloo’s own state! During the previous Cong-I Govt, almost all the local jobs went to Malayalee’s and Tamilians. Now one can already notice that every other Railway employee is already a Bihari!
Key question is: Will our worthless, spineless Kannadiga politicians of all parties, wait for the election fever to start ‘capitalising’ on this injustice?
could anyone tell me who the ‘outsider’ is thats being referred to?
nice photo, what distance was it shot at?
Actually it is not just the ‘well heeled, pseudo-intellectual’ Kannadigas. I know several Marathis who criticize Raj Thakeray and the MNS. The reason is simple – the ranks of the MNS are filled with Goondas and Rowdies who are either unemployed, or unemployable. There are numerous cases of MNS activists going to colleges, MNC companies, Builders, 5-star hotels etc., and demanding cash – huge amounts of cash. If they don’t get what they demand, they break glass, bash up the employees, and create a scene in general.
KRV is slightly ‘better’ in that sense, they generally do not resort to outright extortion and goondaism. But, if the ‘pseudo-intellectuals’ do not criticize them and if the KRV is given free rein, the KRV will become worse than the MNS one day.
Raj is a goon… a filthy worm ! of course!!
The top three, most powerful ministers in the current ‘popular’ Govt are all Telugu speaking!
The previous Govt had a Mallu and a Marathi speaking politician as cabinet Ministers!
We can now expect the next Govt to have Kannada speaking ministers in a few secondary roles..
So it is obviously left to the groups like KRV to defend the rights of locals and Kannadigas. Well, that itself is pretty difficult considering the fact that in some pockets of Bangalore, the so-called locals are either Tamilians or Malayalees!
For almost two decades crooks like Vatal were supposed to defend Kannadigas. Result: They have now become millionaires while their Udipi waiters, cooks and Ghandinagar based fans have been left cursed into poverty and robbed of any justice.
Chaitanya, KRV has been successful in pressurising the railways to put on hold the current recruitment process which was being done to benefit the Biharis & to start the process again with adequate representation to Kannadigas. And you call KRV “weak”. If the central government, in the past 2-3 years has been shaken by the Kannadiga protests (egs: not gazzetting the cauvery tribunal report, putting on hold the partisan railway recruitment process, not supporting Maharashtra in its legal battle for Belagaavi and many more), full credit should go to KRV under Narayana Gowda’s leadership. None of the political parties or the other Kannada leaders have contributed to this.
Chaitanya, pls refer to these links to know more about the agitation by KRV regarding the railway recruitment:

lol funny!! just dont expect gavti ghatti’s with iqs below 10 (followers of raj thackeray) to get the humor in this
KRV is an impotent organization. It has not achieved anything since its inception nor it is going to. What is the difference between Nagraj and Narayana Gowda. New wine in old bottle, as the saying goes. If Laloo is going to heed KRV,s protest, then it is the biggest joke of this decade.
It is the government not KRV should take active interest in issues like recruitment of manpower for railways.
What our government needs to do is to focus more on current economic issues like employment, farm subsidy, attracting investments to set up industries, providing adequate jobs for the local kannadiga population instead of encouraging religion based politics, nepotism and trying to divert the revenues to their own coffers.
“Kannada Chalavali party leader Vatal Nagaraj’s had a grand birthday party in the last week of Sept in his favourite ‘office’, Viz., Woodlands Hotel in Blr. Jnanapeetha awardee U R Ananthamurthy, freedom fighter H S Doreswamy, senior journalist Dr Patil Puttappa, Kannada Development Authority ‘Chairman’ Mukhyamantri Chandru, Kannada Book Authority ‘Chairman’ Dr Siddalingaiah and former speaker Ramesh Kumar participated. Apparently Butter Chicken and Liquor flowed freely till the wee hours of the morning. Remember the Khodays and Mallya shower their goodwill on all those who matter! Next day, Sanjevani even carried a photograph of the gathering”. (or was it a celebration?)
On a lighter note, for the upcoming Kannada Rajyotsava Party on Nov 1st midnight, don’t be surprised if Yedi, Miss Shoba, Reddy Bros and team join this self appointed gang, who consider themselves as the official protectors of Kannadigas. After all: while some of these celebrations are officially budgeted, it is a government holiday too!
Well, moving forward, it is indeed a real pity to see so called Kanndiga’s in this forum, repeatedly criticize local organizations like KRV. While the ageing ‘Kananda Authorities and Chairmans’ have been shamelessly crooked and taking the humble Kannadiga for a royal ride, it is new groups like the KRV that has successfully brought an iota of respect to many of us slogging it out, here in Karnataka.
I suspect most of these anti-KRV comments come from insensitive NRIs or non-local software professionals (can’t believe it can be from any awakened Kannadiga) enjoying the rapid decline of Kannada culture and future, from their air-conditioned environs.
Railways nail MNS lie
The sons-of-the-soil theory in railway recruitments may not hold. Faced with a violent agitation spearheaded by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), railway authorities countered that the recruitments are purely merit-based with no favouritism shown towards any particular community or aspirants from a state. Several of the candidates who had arrived from north India on Saturday to appear for the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exams were beaten up allegedly by MNS activists, demanding that the “outsiders” should not hog jobs of locals. DNA spoke to railway officials to clear the air on the application and selection procedure used in RRB exams:
How are the recruitments done?
Every zonal railway collects the number of vacancies in its respective divisions and submits a consolidated figure of the number of employees required under a particular category. The RRB, an autonomous body under the ministry of railways that conducts examinations and select candidates, scrutinises such requests and finalises the examination to be conducted for each category.
Why do thousands of north Indians come to the city for the examinations?
Mumbai, for that matter Maharashtra, is not the only centre for RRB examinations. These exams are conducted across the country at various places. It just happens that anyone from any part of the country may get Mumbai as the examination centre.
Where and when did the ads appear in Marathi newspapers?
As per procedure, we place the advertisements in at least two important Marathi newspapers, in this case Loksatta and Lokmat, one English newspaper and one regional Hindi newspaper, besides making an announcement through Employment News (a paper that highlights job opportunities). Despite all this, if the local youth do not apply, we cannot be expected to go around every household, requesting Maharashtrians to apply.
For how many vacancies were the examinations conducted on Sunday?
Four zonal railways, including Central (CR) and Western Railway (WR), submitted their requirement of 518 vacancies – which included 38 in the enquiry-cum-reservation-clerk category; 134 as assistant station masters and 346 guards. As many as 1.45 lakh candidates applied for jobs with CR and WR, but about 26,000 actually came to write the exam.
What is the examination procedure like?
Examinations by RRB are conducted in an absolutely transparent manner. Apparently, the procedure was amended; earlier, candidates would be interviewed before they were selected. But following criticism about favouritism, this was discontinued. There are three different papers, with multiple choice questions, set for every exam to ensure that no two students sitting next to each other get the same question paper.
The general feeling is that they are here to clear exams for posting in Maharashtra?
It is not necessary that a candidate who writes the RRB examination papers in Mumbai will get posted in the city. The posting can be anywhere in the country where the railways, for which the exams are held, exist.

Churumuri:
One look at all the regional blogs and newspapers clearly indicates that the north indians and so called Indian Railway’s in particlar have gone on a PR offensive. It is really sad to note that you let another Bhaiya Copy and Paste the so called ‘general feeling’ against Marathi or Kannada newspapers.
Hello…. Lalloo…we are talking about Kannada and Karnataka here.
Well, Guru…can’t you at least filter Bihar or UP or Gujju influenced pan filter?
The previous post was a shame on all of us: Kannadigas.
The earlier post by this guy called Raju is either from someone in the Railway’s PR/Media dept or some one working in Laloo’s office or some Bihari or UP Bhaiya.
While everyone is so concerned about Kannada and the injustice to locals in Karnataka, the honest attempts of home grown organisations like KRV..etc, the posting by this ‘Raju Bhaiya’ is a copt and past of a PR attempt targeted at Marathis!
“Where and when did the ads appear in Marathi newspapers?

kindly define ‘Marathi newspaper’
The crooked and opportunistic politicians are battling out the obvious justification for the recent shootout by the Mumbai Police. None other than India’s most illiterate politician called Laloo has now ganged up with Paswan, Nitish under the disguise of protecting Bihari pride!
While ignorance is bliss in India’s wild west called Bihar, it raises a key question if our spineless politicians in Karnataka will every speak or demonstrate and act united on protecting the genuine interests, job prospects, future..etc of Kannadigas?
Seriously speaking, it makes me wonder, if this blog (Churumuri webzine or journal) is read by real Kannadiga’s or only by the well-to-do-software professionals who claim to be Kannadiga’s with free web access during office hrs (obviously Reddy’s, Kongas, Shetty’s, Mudailars, Mallus, Kamas, Biharis,..etc, all in Blr’s software/BPO houses)
While there is so much fire in Mumbai (thanks to the fiercely loyal Marathi’s and their marginalized, traditional culture in the midst of completely shameless, corrupt local as well as UP/Bihari politicians) it is sad to note that there is not one genuine Kannada voice in Bangalore?
Makes one wonder what is Nov 1st and Kannada Rajyotsava all about?
Well, the politicians will surely and suddenly wake up on that day, sadly it will be left to KRV and others (including the most crooked Vatal & his Cong-I flunkies) to champion Kannada and Kannadigas… just for a day!
Whatever that means to new Karnataka is anybody’s guess.
A tragedy indeed is what Kuvempu or more recently Dr. Raj would have immediately accepted but also resigned to fate, thanks to a popurarly corrupt and defensive BJP govt.
Wonder how many are aware that this state was formed in 1950..and named as Karnataka on November 1, 1973.
BJP or Cong-I or the JDS….in 2008 all are equally to blame, to be blunt.
Maybe, it is time to join the chorus…maybe not?
Worms is not the correct term. (assuming you are a kanndiga)
Anyway……we move on.
I still remember a stamp being released on Dr. Rajakumar on Nov 1. BTW, that was on ’06 and executed by central postal department, Gov. of India!
However, it’s actually very sad news to note that only the most aggressive flunkies of CM Yeddi (Viz., Miss. Shoba Karandlaje, V S Acharya, V P Baligar, Jayaramaraje Urs, Manu Baligar) were the key decision makers this time. (I do agree it was much worse with the JD or Cong-I Govts)
BTW, sources already quoted in local media, say that the key triumvirate led by the controversial lady, took an independent decision on finalising the list. While most of this year’s awardees are said to have been recommended by the Sangh Parivar, the final list has at least 10 key people missing! Especially around 5 very creative yet low profile ‘only in Kannada’ novelists. Sounds extremely unfair, indeed.
Forget the Rs 1 lakh in cash and a 20-gram gold medallion, the litany of controversies over “dubious eminence” is very bad. Almost, all these politicians (party?) have been used to reward & loyalties of all hues.
Last weekend I had an hour long debate with one of my best friends on this whole Raj/MNS issue. I’m normally one who keeps an open mind on issues and am willing to listen to reason. While I’m no fan at all of Raj T and his brand of goondaism, if what my friend told me are true then there is definitely a genuine grievance of Marathis that need to be addressed. Of course, my basic argument that you cannot hold people in private sector at gunpoint to demand ‘reservations’ held up – after all its the constitution we are speaking of. But if govt sector jobs for which locals are to be given priority are being siphoned off by canny politicos for the benefit of their vote bank, then something is surely wrong – Chaitanya above also made the same remark. Something for us all to think about.
