The latest terror attack on Bombay has the potential to alter the political landscape of the country, which may perhaps be one of the objectives of the perpetrators. While we must grieve those who have fallen prey, and salute those who have stood up to protect, an attack of this scale and spectacle usually has voters sizing up the performance of parties and politicians, of the government and the opposition, in their minds.
So, if the Lok Sabha election were to be held tomorrow, who would you vote for?
After the Malegon blast and with some suspects identified, all the media and the so called secular parties were only interested in maligning the Saffron colour forgetting the Real terrorists the Muslims because of the vote bank.
The weakness of the center has made the recent blasts and terrorist attack in Mumbai possible. The Congress and the so called secular parties support the Muslims (irrespective of what they do) because of their votes, where as if the BJP support the Hindu’s they are called anti national.
But it is very paradoxical that so far no Politician has died during a bomb blast or a terrorist attack except Rajiv!!!

None of them actually.
Not one has a good record of protecting our lives from the terrorists. None of them are willing to engage in the long term reforms that will be needed in our police and investigative agencies to give them the ability to stop terror.
As long as they have Z class security and cushy rural vote banks to be exploited on the basis of caste and religion, they will not bother themselves too much about national security.
Also, at this point, Shivraj Patil is beyond resignation. If anything, he must be called on to answer charges of treason and abetment of terrorist activities.

This is a mischievous statement if ever there was one. I don’t think any further explanation would be forthcoming.

This post is typical of media of today … absolutely pathetic :( Churmuri seems to be very worried about the poll prospects of its favorite party.

Any party in power cannot stop these things. So, there is no point to change the mind of voting a party because of there were any number of such incidents. It is a problem of the whole nation, and I am sure none of the political parties have the solution!

This is totally my personal view
BJP(read as Advani) will be very happy with the turn of events with few assembly polls ongoing and LS polls knocking at the door and people sentiments are against Sonia,M M Singh & Shiraj patil.
so people may vote BJP. so no matter if 100 + people loose life BJP will be happy to come to power to do nothing.
I will never forget what happened during LKAdvani’s duration as home minister.
1) kandhar episode and minister of external affairs escorting terroists with him for safe. Please think ponder over this. Probally this was one of the the worst point that happened in fight gainst terroisin we showed who weak we are while fighting terror.
2) Parliment attack in 2001
list can be extended more but i do want to do it.
We need anti terror policies as that in Israeil/USA/UK.
I request police and/or army first to kick Arundathi roy, Teasta selvad, etccc.
I am not congress/comunist/etcc.
I am an ordinary Indian writing this blog.
No politican till now thinks out side his vote bank.

As much as I appreciate the efforts of Churumuri to collate/publish the ideas and sentiments of the common man, I must admit that some of its articles are written with an AGENDA (“The latest terror attack on Bombay has the potential to alter the political landscape of the country, which may perhaps be one of the objectives of the perpetrators”) :(
For the last 40 hours, I (a non-Mumbaikar) feel nothing but total hatred for these terrorists (I am sure that every rational human being on Earth shares the same sentiments).
At such a time, I feel that a pole on the following matters could be more relevant:
1.What are the most vulnerable terror targets in Bangalore and other locations in India
2.What does the common man need to do to prevent such attacks in future
3.Does the Mumbai underworld gain from such terrorist activities
4.What is the hidden agenda behind these terror attacks (India has witnessed almost 4 such attacks in different cities since May 2008)
5.Do we need armed forces to protect our cities………….etc
I hope my thoughts are taken in the right spirit:)

if the latest terror attack on bombay has the potential to alter the political landscape of the country, then good! at the very least this should be used as an example of what should not be done. the sheer unpreparedness of security forces against this attack should jolt the big heads into doing something. they should not be conducting elections tomorrow worried about which one of them is more popular! they should be busy tomorrow in a massive overhaul of the nation’s security infrastructure. this is not a conventional battlefield in any sense; it’s urban warfare and naval commandos and armed personnel are simply not trained for this sort of onslaught. two men v/s a 100 policemen! most of whom came to a gunfight with lathis!! and what prompted karkare to take his bullet proof vest off? so to hell with the elections, i want results! show me what you can do and if i’m convinced, then i’ll vote. what’s more important? being in power or being powerful?

It is meaningless on the part to conduct such polls. Why should anybody know as to whom one votes? It is purely a matter of secret franchise. And in an election everything counts – the party , the candidate, the needs and necessities of the constituency, the background of the candidate tc. And everyday the peoples opinions also changes. People are not fools and an educated voter will never reveal his will. Churumuri should believe in the privacy of the educated classes.

I would never touch BJP even with a barge poll but I can certainly certify that this poll is completely rigged. At present the majority of Indians accessing the internet worldwide are from the Hindu upper castes and it is a know fact that they are firmly with the BJP.
Not only that just a cursory glance through the comment made on churumuri would tell anyone that majority of its readers are BJP supporters.

NSG commandos are not NAVAL commandos.
Indian naval commandos are called MARCOS(MARine COmmandoS)
And stop talking like you have the best strategy or the supreme experience to resolve a hostage situation involving terrorists armed with fully automatic weapons and grenades and god knows wat else equipment!

its jobless “pseudo secular” like Naveen n others who are rigging the polls.
You are one big pseud when u say “I would never touch BJP even with a barge poll but I can certainly certify that this poll is completely rigged.”
You are also one of those anti-nationals licking around an Italian bar attender. What a shame. The amount damage that the other parties like congress and left has done to India is humongous.

bari olu – No, Naveen is not pseudo-secular. He is very much secular.
Consider this – Secularism is separation of “Church” from the State. Naveen and folks of his ilk have internalized this poison and have separated themselves from “their” Church. Now that they have accomplished this signal goal, the only way they can maintain its adherence is by constantly vilifying something they DO NOT wish to be a part of. Vilification is very necessary to be “apart”.
Vilification of all other “Churches” is an option not many secular folk choose to take. It’s not necessary for them to do this since none of these other “Churches” are in a position to alter real equations numerically speaking. And that’s what matters in a democracy.
What we should be doing is unabashedly calling ourselves Hindus.

in this case i suggest pull out all the “good honest qualified politicians”(if there are any at all) irrespective of their parties and put them in the govt posts, the party should not be a criterion for selection of a worthy candidate to a post in the government!

I vote for BJP ,I my opinion Narendra Modi is the perfect choice for pm of india to tackle terrorism he is the best!this is happening because of vote bank politics practised since 1947,All parties irrespectively support muslims whatever they do is right.Recently Amarsingh extended financial help ofr terroists and cpm congrees every one is worried about vote bank not about nations security or about common man.
