As if to remind walkers under its canopy that it’s time to bid goodbye to an old season and usher in a new one, the magnificent trees of Cubbon Park in Bangalore roll out a carpet of dry leaves that crackle under the feet.

Wouldn’t it be nice if no cars were parked there? And no offices. Why should the government’s theft of public land be condoned?

Nice Photo…
A nice one appeared in Praja Vani as well over the weekend.
There were many places where you could see it. Cubbon Park of course but also most notably Jayanagar Nanda Theatre road (extension of RV Road after Southend Circle) and new BEL road from CPRI to MS Ramaiah Memorial Hospital.
As I rode on my bile through these roads over th weekend, one thing crossed my mind. Why are we having autumn after winter? The low temperatures have certainly turned around after sankranti as they do usually but the dry leaves are still falling. Has it always been like this? Its mid february and we should be having the mangoes on the trees shortly. Is this climate change?

Wonderful photo sir. For people in this IT city who have lost the idea of Day, Night and seasons, this is a fitting reminder. We the people of Bangalore who sit in plush offices under tubelights, Air conditioning, cars and malls let us understand that we are part of nature. Yes the sun, moon, plants, rain and seasons. Winter, Fall, Summer, Spring and the monsoons. Let us remmember all these. It is not just Q1-4 and the quarterly results. Life is much more vast.

Keeping all the romantic whispers such as, Carpet of leaves, A signal from ‘above’,etc aside.. What happened to the corporation and its sweepers? Why they have left the Cubbon park not cleaned for weeks together so that the dry leaves formed a carpet and made crackling sounds under the original posters feet?
