churumuri.com is pleased and privileged to endorse, without any reservations and without reading too much between the lines, this action of chief minister B.S. Yediyurappa.
Sri Shivakumara Swamiji of the Siddaganga Mutt is decidedly older in age and in wisdom; has spent a lifetime in service of society, providing free quality education to the poor and underprivileged; and has earned the respect of millions with his vision and selflessness.
If only we could say the same thing of most “godmen”, without having to hiss about their financial hera-pheri, their business empires, their political antics, their sexual proclivities, etc; and without frothing at the mouth about “secular” politicians attending iftaar parties or confabulating with children of Christ.

What is bugging Churumuri folks? This is something commonly done by all the politicians and all persons who are not communists. Touching the feet of elders and pontiffs, as you derogatorily call as “genuflecting” is quite harmless act, except that paperazi have caught the act in their camera. Further, why hound Yediyurappa? You object to his getting doctorate from American university. You object when he touches the pontiff’s feet. You object his Shobha Yatras! You mock, mimic and redicule all his acts, talks, decisions, sometimes, even when he does nothing!
Haven’t we had worse chief ministers like Gundu Rao and Bangarappa? In what manner JH Patel was a better CM except that he was a socialist and in the same legaue as you people?
hey, see this, very hilarious…….

I didnt know which email i shud send it to. So iam just posting this as a comment.
Powerful Indian empires rose whenever we saw decline of priestly class- Chandragupta, Ashoka or in recent times during Vijaynagar empire, Shivaji, or Sikhs. Hope, Hindutva fundoos will not forget this basic premise of Swami Vivekanand. Make Hinduism FLAT.
Its great to see Priests and ruling class combining, but the larger picture should not be lost- the upliftment of people, their economic, social, spiritual condition.
However, curious role of Churumuri of certifying religious leader(s) remind role played by Communist Party of China (CPC)! Nobody needs your certificate Sir! Go to court if you have issues with illegal activity of any particular one.
so we are to take that no high-ranking churumuri dignitary close to people close to the Obamas has yet been ill-treated or asked to wash plates by the Sage of Siddaganga? are we also to infer that every ‘guest’/’speaker’ ever advertised by the wise seer’s maTa has always showed up at the advertised function/conference/seminar.
A truism wrt Propaganda.
Too much of it will have the opposite of intended result.
This is what Times Bangalore has to say about Yedi

Two days before his birthday on February 27, Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa declared it would be a low-key affair, that he would no longer accept garlands at public functions, and that he should not to be addressed as `Dr’ (he’s been given an honorary doctorate). All this after he recently took an oath in the name of farmers at a function at Gokarna in Uttara Kannada district. Taking the path of simplicity, he had also said that he was a farmer’s son, and not a `doctor’. The CM’s no-garland pledge will surely end wastage at public functions. In this scenario, his colleagues may also feel duty-bound to keep celebrations low-key and garlands at bay.
Should all cabinet colleagues emulate Yeddyurappa in his no-garland rule?

BNG…a small correction.. “.. and all persons who are not communists.” May be they don’t do it in public …otherwise they are also human beings. nobody is a born communist…and to go on commenting for every act of the CM…there are better thngs …no other problems in Karnataka..
what is your problem? If a senior person is greeted by touching his/her feet, it just shows respect. It is a good gesture. However, I am wondering why churumuri has not bothered to comment on people touching the feet of- at least trying to- Mulayam Singh, Lalu Yadav, Ram Vilas Pasvan, even Rahul Gandhi. I guess it is okay if if it not BJP .
i feel churumuri.com is more obsessed with all things Godmen and Swamis rather than Yedyurappa or others.
Any hidden agenda??
i have wanted to say this for a long time. if churumuri were a snap shot of a mysore-nora view of the world. and a martian were to see this snap shot, then he would assume that the only colour mysore-noru have is that of religion and divisive issues. they are only filled with hatred and are always tearing at each other, they know of no other existential issues forget finer aspects of human life like arts, love and sex. conflict. conflict and conflict. that is all there is to a mysorean’s life and worldview.
ERR is the only saving grace.

Dera Sathya,
I was referring to people in the Public Life, not ordinary mortals like you and I. At least in public life, Communists don’t seem to have demonstrated any reverence to religious heads.
I have no objection to atheism. But, communism is another matter – it destroys the existing structure and replaces it with something worse.
