Sonia Maino Gandhi and Lalchand Kishinchand Advani may be united in their contemputous fulminations against the Third Front and smaller, regional parties. But there is still no stopping “The Others”, according to an opinion poll conducted for India Today magazine by ORG-MARG-AC Neilsen in 98 constituencies in 19 States.
The sample size was 12,374 respondents.
# Advani & Co may contemputously call Manmohan Singh the weakest PM, etc, even disgracefully mocking his absence from work following his heart bypass heart operation. But the PM’s rating is higher than that of the PM–in-waiting: 42% say his performance was average, against 41% for Advani; 39% term it good versus 28%.
# 25% per cent say projecting Narendra Damodardas Modi as the PM candidate in the next general elections will have no impact on the BJP’s prospects in this election.
Sometime back, I read that Prannoy Roy of NDTV took over India Today. That explains these results!

Thinking about the BJP, the Congress, and such, I find myself wondering about all the deaths in the Nehru-Gandhi clan that are not due to natural causes. To wit:
Firoz Gandhi
Menaka Gandhi’s father
Sanjaya Gandhi
Indira Gandhi
Rajiva Gandhi
Priyanka Gandhi’s Wadhra’s father-in-law
Furthermore, M. K. Gandhi’s unrelated case makes me wonder if there is some kind of fate working here against prominent people with this last name. Is it too late for the breathing members of the family to rush to our Subrahmanya temple for a sarpadosha nivaarana ritual?
Or, perhaps, this is a supernatural warning to the family about its arrogance as the uncrowned emperors and and empresses of democratic Bhaaratha?
Speaking of such matters, I wonder about our anointed intellectual Shri Ananthamurthy now professing his faith in the Congress Party, a few months after appearing in public with the JDS-Gowda clan. Did he not grandiloquently proclaim his anathema against the UPA government’s abject capitualation to the U. S. on the issue of that country having the power to inspect Indian civil nuclear facilities with no reciprocal protocols? He sure knows how to buy insurance against odds.
Wouldn’t it be fun to have a townhall meeting where Devegowda would talk about geopolitics for a few minutes, followed by Rave and Kum’s weighing in?
Among all of my cyber acquaintances at Churumuri, I really want to hear Dr. Ramesappa’s comments on the matter. I know TS is there to come out with his abstruse divagations and Doddibuddi with his magesterial prouncouncements about everything and anything. But The Dent is the true barometre of our people’s thinking.

Predicting result of upcoming election is a lot tougher in the era of questionable public media. So it would be better if we rely on grass root realities not on a small sample population, which can be changed to advantage of one party or other.

advani calling manmohan singh a weak PM is a big joke.
advani’s tenure as home minister and deputy PM was detrimental to india. india truly became a soft state durimg NDA rule.
worst performing home minister india ever had. what was their response after parliament attack—-neither military option nor coercive diplomacy was persued. advani was taken over by IT LOBBY AND TRADER LOBBY which pressurised him not to act.
sonia GANDHI ,MANMOHAN LED UPA govt handled post 26\11 with great maturity making pakistan confess for the first time that the terrorist wss their citizen.
look at karnataka bjp,
they are dividing people here by holding tamil, elugu samavesha in karnataka. people should teach NAADA DROHI ,KANNADA DROHI CHEDDI GANG A LESSON WHICH THEY WONT FORGET IN A HURRY.

DEVE GOWDARU SHOULD BE APPRECIATED FOR HE HAS SAID.
he has honestly admitted that he cannot stoop down to the level of third rate ,below the belt politics of reddi-cheddi gang in shivamogga-bellary. itt is said that india govt or state govt has no control in bellary. very unfortunate, alarming situation.
JD S performance this general election will be the biggest surprise. gowdru will again repeat the RISING FROM DUST PHOENIX ACT.
