The poll of polls swings wildly like Waqar Younis


Anybody can do an opinion poll today, and almost everybody does, confident in the belief that nobody will come back to check or go back to see what the others said. This graph represents 16 predictions made by various newspapers, magazines, TV stations and individuals like Arun Nehru over the last month and a half, all carried by, and they convey the unpredictability of Indian elections—and the unpredictability of Indian opinion polls—in good measure, leaving us none the wiser.
