The saga surrounding the inclusion of various members of the Karunanidhi family in the Manmohan Singh council of ministers continues. As per current indications, MK’s eldest son M.K. Azhagiri and grand-nephew Dayanidhi Maran are to be given cabinet berths.
And, as per current indications, his daughter Kanimozhi has opted to sit out.
Presumably, the poet-cum-sub-editor is miffed at the precedence to Maran but she is not saying it. But the curious thing is the lady’s Rajya Sabha webpage. It doesn’t throw too much light on her educational qualifications, profession, positions held, books published, countries visited, and sundry other activities.
But on one key question, it is dead sure: Yes, the 1968-born Kanimozhi is a “freedom fighter”.
considering her ‘dad’ is one of the few ppl in Indian politics to get away greater than one ‘wife’ ..its strange to see her parents name also left blank..
an unintentional goof-up OR a rare show of honesty??

She is a freedom fighter…She is fighting for more freedom for her mother -who is Karunanidhi’s third wife- over the other two and their kids.Shame on Karunanidhi!!!

She is talking about Tamil Eelam ofcourse!! She will rest and stop writing poems only when she has achieved freedom for her people!!
And she was born along with Christ (Well may be even before that, if you consider Christ was born on 25-12-0000, Kannimozhi beat him by about 12 months)!!

She has the best qualification that any Indian needs- her dad is a CM and a friend of Singh and Sonia. These are the new generation political leaders of India who will usher in the First World status for India! This Indian democracy at work bolted onto nepotism and corruption.

It could also mean something else……….George Carlin did talk about Freedom Fighters in his stand up act “If Crime fighters fight crime, Fire fighters fight fire, what does it say about Freedom fighters”

This thiruka is an arasu. Boggles the mind to think about his similarity to our karunarahitha Gowda.

Penning a few lines of poetry and trading a few speeches in favor of Eelam Tamils is all it takes to be called a ‘freedom fighter’ huh ? Never mind all the Gandhians who dedicated their lives and still are not recognized for their work. Note to self — moron, remember, in Tamil politics it is hard to discern reel life from real life.
It’s the passing of the baton from the older to the younger generation. This seems to line up with Rahul bhaiya’s photo-op of carrying an empty basket in spotlessly clean whites. Just imagine what wonders the duo of Mozhe – Bhole can do ?

When ever there is a talk about a politician being corrupt, Jayalalita’s name is brought up– what about Karunanidhi and his family.
Jayalalita is a loner but MK with THREE live wifes is a whole family of corrupt people.

The following ideas have nothing to do with Kanimozhi or whatever her name is posing as a freedom fighter. They rather have to with our representatives in Parliament.
I wonder if it is possible at all for our news outlets to set aside some space, preferably a page in the papers and thirty minutes on the TV channels on a daily basis, to discuss the doings in Parliament of our lords and ladies, well, one lady. I would like the section to talk about what issues relative to Karnataka’s well being came up for discussion in the two houses and which of our prathinidhis said what and how they voted on issues. I do know most of them have trouble speaking Hindi or English, but what is worse is they cannot speak decent Kannada either. As a sidelight, it would be interesting to know how many of them know the geographical location of Switzerland where their Indian kaanchaana is earning big euro interest.
S.M. Krishna’s tenure in Parliament has largely been marked by silence as that of Ambareesh and a whole bunch of others. Now that SMK is a cabinet minister, perhaps we will not have to ask, “Amma nimma manegaLalli namma Krishnana kandirenamma?” On second thoughts, we might have even more occasion to ask that question.
Does anybody remember Devegowda saying he does not care to attend Parliament sessions because he gets no more than three minutes to speak despite his having been a prime minister? Of the twenty-eight tongue-tied Kannadigas from Karnataka in the Loksabha and the Kans and non-Kans from Karnataka in the Raajyasabha, how many have been known to do something to protect the interests of the state that sent them there? I know simple economics dictates that they are busy recouping the eight or ten crores they spent on the election and must make a few more within five years. These days even that is not certain because we don’t know when another general election might be called.
Demonitisation, term limits, caps on income . . . . I know I am dreaming.

May be the default value for Freedom Fighter is ‘Yes’, as that for Date of Birth is 00-00-0000. Has anybody checked this fact?
I think she hasn’t filled any of her details… No more politics on this guys..

Its good that Laloo’s party could not win enough seats..else with 9 children + 3 son in laws + one wife + 20 cows + 30 buffalos…he could have demanded 65 ministerial posts

Cool Dude,
It all makes sense now. A great deal of personal information from the form is omitted because they feel it is none of anybody’s business. The freedom fighter tag is justified because they all have fought for Tamil’s and TN’s freedom.
Where are the fighters for Kannada? Devegowda’s former henchperson from Chamarajanagar claimed that he had asked 515 questions in Kannada in Parliament and also that he had spoken in our language on the floor at least ten times. I wonder if this can be corroborated. If it can, for that reason alone he deserves to be returned to Delhi. I would be willing to vacate my seat in Kathriguppe for him.
