Perhaps many illiterate politicians who make laws for those smarter than they should do the same!
Did she attend class to qualify for the finals?
Must be an Open University Exam … KSOU/Kuvempu.
Cool.
What do you mean “commodification” of exam? Exam is a means to be judged/rated on your abilities. To be judged/rated on your abilities why must anyone go to school or college? If i were the chief minister or the education minister i would separate the learning part and the judging/rating part.
External Candidates.. – same way you can sit for 7th STD, Xth STD..etc
seems to me that more than Anu Prabhakar, its the Karnataka Photo News which is commodifying BA exam.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಏನು ಇಲ್ಲವ ಫೋಟೋ ತೆಕ್ಕೋಳಕ್ಕೆ.
Need to go check attendance register for that. Do you want to?
Dint quite understand what the headline supposed to mean…
Correspondence Course…no attendance required
:)
I know several men and women who don’t have a degree, but are extremely well informed and learned.
The inverse is also true.
Plenty of degree holders are shockingly low in all round knowledge and intellegence.
Eduction gives you textbook knowledge. Lack of formal education may make one think ‘out-of-the-textbook.’
No MBA holder or any degree holder has till today matched the acute business sense and heightened intelligence of the greatest businessmen of all time. Bill Gates and Dhirubai Ambani. Both without a degree.

So what you are saying is that it’s not education which ensures success, it’s just plain luck?
@simple
Both without a degree.
In the case of Bill Gates you are wrong. He was a student at Harvard–he was smart to get in but left to do his own business out of choice. This is very different from those who do not have an education–And because he is educated, he realizes that money is nothing after you have seen what it is like to make a lot so he gives it away to charity….
And also Bill Gates got into Harvard not because his family was wealthy but through hard work…..this also makes a difference…

Illa. naanu haage helalilla. I never used the word luck.
I merely meant that knowledge can be acquired without a degree.
Some of the worlds most sucessful persons are knowledgable, without any degree.
And success is a confluence of passion, talent, harwork and luck. Luck for me, is just being there at the right time and right place.
Larissa
Gates and Ambani both did not have a degree.
They were smart innately.
And degrees did not make them smart.
Distance education, open universities, correspondence courses these help people , irrespective of their age, caste, creed etc etc , to sit and study in their free time. Whether it is Anu or somebody else they have a right to get education. Did she ask for publicity? Thousands of people even in remote parts of the country have studided andexcelled, acquired knowledge. It is an oportunity provided. People who make use of them properly know their real worth. They don’t go after paper setters, evaluators, middlemen. Churumuri is somehow obsessed with COMMODIFICATION> Why? If it views education as a commodity…
hahah! “commodification of exams.” good one.
you might have as well said “commode-ification” of the exams.
its all clear now, first it was ramya’s pics, now it is anu prabhakar’s. Churumuri basically wants to increase its local viewership by posting such pics. Shame on you….
We could use some more commodities (a.k.a maal or saamaanu) like this.
It’s not just Anu Prabhakar former minister of Karnataka, DK Shivkumar who also received his degree of Master’s in Political Science from KSOU in 2007
