Lok Ayukta raids unearthing “assets disproportionate to known sources of income” have long since ceased to surprise. But they also seem to have ceased to cause fear.
This little hut belonging to—wait for it—a sub-inspector, yes, a sub-inspector in the State excise department was raided by the Lok Ayukta team in Ajjanapalya in Bangalore on Wednesday. Sub-inspector Ramachandrappa, smart chap that he is, rents it out for shooting purposes.

Cant we abolish most of the government? That way there will be very few people taking bribes – maybe they can even be given salaries much bigger than they can earn in the private sector?
That way income tax can be reduced to a large extent too (since there is no need to maintain an inefficient and corrupt setup).
Ok so what ?
We shud ask katta abt his benami?
It is 200 times bigger
Agree with cycle kalla. I would rather be a politician than a SI. As an SI I might get caught with lokayukta, but a as a politician I’m not accountable to anybody.
So, what happens to all the Ramachandrappas caught by the Lok Ayukta. Are they being send to Siberia or do they routinely come back to circulation after parting with part of their hidden treasures? Are they asked to kick their jobs and join politics to ‘serve’ the people? They definitely have the ‘banks’ and need only to convert it into votes.
Why not write a similar story about our politicians who have increased their assets by 3 to 4 times during the last 4-5 years as declared by them during the last LS elections! Are they above law? 90% of them have to be prosecuted.
NS Rao , Nicely said..
if Lookayukta can target, target Bangalore EAST excise DC one Mohan Kumar, he is worth at least 30 crores, he is in this post for last 4 years. You know his area of operation, its MG Road, Indiranagar, Koramangala, whitefield and surrounding area. can you imagine how many resturants are there in this area?? this man should be raided first he shall be a prized catch for Lookayukta
What about Manivannan and Kempayya and Jayanna ? all o fthem are crooks feeding on the JURNM funds. The DC alone must be worth about 200 crores from his stint in Mysore.
Kempaya is a hog who eats money. His physique and talk reeks with ill goten wealth
Jayanna, the wily MUDA chief and cohort of Manivannan too is a store house of money.
Manivannan showed undue interest in the missionary land in Nazarbad. He demanded 50 lakhs to take back the curfew he had imposed there. When the high court struck his orders, he immediately declared the building standing there as “Heritage” building. He is the cunningest wily fox IAS officer in the state.
Keeping”Soba madam” in good books, he is surviving
But our Netas are looking for more government. More number of States,
in turn having more Districts in them. More Mantris,Tantris,Kantris and Kurchis for all of them.

I am confused here… I thought Manivannan was an excellent officer given the circumstances in Karnataka. Can you tell use why Manivannan demanded 50 Lakhs? I am curious to see the linkage here. Is Kempayya the same police guy?

Grahacharaji, I thought Manivannan is a good DC Mysore had in many years and still believe he is. I too have heard whisperings that he is corrupt, but that is just the age-old technique to get rid of such good officers. After all, ministers too need excuses to enact premature transfers. This 50 lakh is just hearsay isn’t it? If his order declaring the building as heritage property was on the heels of the court order, one could have gone to the court again saying it is just vindictive. And with your palm on your heart tell us, isn’t it really a heritage building? And the idea of heritage building was pending too, isn’t it? The blog was on someone caught red-handed by the Lokayukta and others use it to take vengeance on upright people like Manivannan. That could put a smile on Mr. Ramachandrappa’s face.
