Whoever said only losers take up the arts? At 26 years of age, Priya Krishna, MA, LLB, s/o “Layout” Krishnappa, has Rs 770 crore of movable and immovable assets; and Rs 734 crore of loans from banks and financial institutions.
If Rahul Gandhi is really all he is made out to be—the great white hope of the Congress; the prime mover towards a new, improved Congress; the man who chose bright, clean, young candidates in the 2009 general elections—how on earth does he allow someone like this to be the Congress candidate from Govindarajapura, and how does he expect the world to ignore it?

So? What’s wrong with being wealthy? I never knew wealth was a disqualification for contesting in Indian elections. It is not so elsewhere, e.g. Ross Perot, Bush family, Kennedy family, etc. etc. etc. At least Mr. Priya Krishna is honest in declaring his assets. Totally trash article this one.
@Mahesh
You’re absolutely right, there is nothing wrong with being wealthy, as long as they declare their assets.
After all, even Genghiz Khan and Timur never shied away from building pyramids of skulls of the people they slaughtered.
What vice does not become virtue when done in the open and in the face of decency, law and moral order? Don’t you think so?

a) Someone is rich.
b) He declares the wealth.
c) He is contesting the elections.
Which of the above points is indecent, immoral and unlawful?
Honesty and integrity. One should appreciate if he had been truthful in declaring all his wealth.
Then comes the question of his integrity.
Did he earn all this money legally, that is, by ways the law of the land allows him?
We know politicians of all hue and cry, even the small town variety, amassing wealth beyond anybody’s imagination, once they become a chairman, a mayor or a director of some public organisation. And this happens in all political parties- the communal one, the centrist one and the leftist too!!! We have rags to riches (sic) stories of crorepathi hooch-liquor mafia politicians , mining mafia politicians and underworld killing mafia politicians whose crorers were also amassed in the most criminal, illegal ways.
We hear about ministers who are/were worth 5000 crore/6000 crore who didn’t have even a rag to cover themselves before they became politicians!! (advantages of serving the people!!)
We also had people who were rich even before they became politicians and served the nation without being money hungry and greedy. Ofcourse they are rare like gems among rocks.
Being rich is not a crime or reflect badly on ones character.
It is not a disqualification either.
So, we need to ask the question rather than being plain jealous.
Where did the riches come from???
Ee mahaanubhaavana appana aasthi eshtu?
Its highly unlikely that Rahul Gandhi has time for such trivial things. Check the story to see whats keeping Rahul busy. He in angry that youth congress leaders are using beacons on their cars and writing their names, designation on the number plate..and instructed them to remove that immediately or face action.
Priorities are pretty clear here..

Poor guy Rahul Gandhi- the unrealistic nature of expectations is going to make him anothr ‘ banana’ person like his father.
Nothing is unrealistic for a Gandhi. He knows that, some of us know that, this boy’s party certainly knows that.
So where is the question of “unrealistic expectations”?
They’r magicians. They should now work their magic, again ;)

A guy named Priya?!
oh come on whats wrong in being rich and wanting power. is that not what everybody wants.
this guy just declared it honestly…
i presume instead of passing judgments about his assets and his nomination we need to concentrate more on what he wishes to do…or his will to contest against a veteran whose been undefeated throughout…
