It takes a monstrous downpour to reveal how perilous life can be, even on Gandhi Jayanti.
In Raichur, railway sleepers are held aloft by hope; in Bellary, the road attains an earthy hue; in Hubli, the difference between land and water, road and bridge is obliterated on the Navalgund road; and in Mantralaya, even the divine hand of Sri Suyateendra Teertha swamiji requires help from an air force hand to escape the wrath of nature.

Did anyone notice how the so called 24*7 English news channels covered the floods in KA where the death toll as of now stands at around 110? Wake up Sid controversy, Sachin’s food poisoning were the main “breaking news” today.
Compare this with the way the channels gave round the clock coverage (2 days) to the death of “criminal from Cuddappah” elevating him to sainthood.

Englsih news channels of supposedly “national” types did not even bother to discuss the perils to dams and reservoirs or the villages waiting to be submerged. It is a shame…
X news and HYnews covered as much as they could. Well done..
