P. Mahamud, the hard-hitting cartoonist of the Kannada daily Praja Vani, captures the week’s biggest events—the “prabhugalu” going through their yoga callisthenics in Suttur, and the “prajegalu” going through hell in North Karnataka—in a pocket cartoon that every MLA and minister, every bureaucrat, babu and clerk, and indeed every mediaperson, should frame and keep.

even today’s cartoon on drought assessment officials visiting flooded villages, saying “flood assessment will be done by someone else later” deserves a credit

P Mehmud is brilliant. No two words about it. He has definitely made me smile. As a political cartoonist, he is one of the top cartoonist we have. However, what he lacks is variety.
All his efforts and creativity has been directed towards making fun of BJP. I would love to see what he has got to say about Rahul baba’s grama vastavya antics.
( I would agree if comes back and says, he has variety but he has been kept very busy by BSY and gang that he had no time to look at others :) )

Finally when our CM decides to visit flood hit areas, he goes first to Mantralya which is AP. What on the earth made him to this. Should we read it as Safforn pampering? Now rest of the world, thanks to the english channels think the flood are severe in AP. Well as usual other states get preference for aid from center.
One must the channels to get the taste of coverage, they show shots of karnataka and name it as AP.

Within a day, 800 people are missing/dead in AP. Whereas even after four days, only 153 dead in Karnataka!!!

P Mahmud is awesome as usual.
Wonder what the earlier congress-JD-S regimes would be doing in similar situations?
Digging into their plates in front of cameras! At least these fellas are trying to show that they are trying to keep fit.
It is better that these morons stay put here instead of burning crores of Rupees worth fuel flying over the flooded regions.
Wonder why the central government is refusing to cooperate with Karnataka govt. in lending central paramilitary and armed forces support!?
If Maharashtra and AP can get them, then why shouldn’t Karnataka!?
Shame on you, Dr. Singh. :(

WTF is the cartoon supposed to convey -its a sickening imagination of a third rate cartoonist who wants to indulge in scoring a ridiculous political point by exploiting a natural calamity
Is Mahmud alluding that instead of Yogic tradition we would have been well served by a following a particular fanatical death cult from middle east which he might be subscribing to?

i don’t see what’s so great in this cartoon, which depicts neither any relevant parallelism nor any irony. instead, the cartoon is in poor taste, given the tragedy in north karnataka.

‘Ade Raaga’ from yeddy sympathisers.. Congi/JDS did not do much during situations so our yeddy can perform or underperform whatever he chooses. Where is the ‘Modi style’ administration we were promised?
And for gods sake(whichever u believe) dont shoot at the cartoonist here .

Rulers are supposed to rule the state. More so, they should be on their toes during emergencies like the present flood.
Instead, if they have time to do yoga, when people are drowning, surely, surely, people have a right to protest.
Cartoonists too have a right to protest in their own satirical ways.

Again, the So called Central Govt is showing the Step-mother treatment to KN(So are the Bloddy Media). AP gets 418 Crores, and Madam Sonia visits AP to get the Bird’s eyeview of flood area….KN gets 140 Crores.
The So called Media is busy covering the champions trophy and all other Masalas but not the complete coverage.
And we need to be are proud as Indians!
Anyways, Cartoon is good.
