Govanakoppa village was created in what is now Bagalkot district at the time of the reorganisation of States in 1956. Today, over half the houses in the village lie damaged in the recent floods. Children of the village pose for the cameras on Monday, blissfully unaware of what is going to protect them from the next shower—and the next summer.

Putting some thoughts on current scene,
About reconstruction, whole of karnataka is under test, as to how well we reconstruct the villages or are we like the same old who will throw some money with hopelessly constructed houses and come back.
Eveyone is building 5000 houses with 50 crores with 1lakh per house!!! I wonder how long they last! Why can’t it be more inhabitable? Why can’t they use this golden oppurtunity to build proper villages, with proper sanitation, schools, water storage. Houses with tiles are still a good choice instead of sheets in these dry areas.
Good to see that TV9 has taken this initiative of building 5 maadari villages. I think if they setup a dedicated panel for a year or so ,with eminent volunteers on rotational basis, they can reconstruct , shift ,educate majority of them and whenever they encounter any govt hassle immediately report and rip the bureaucracy naked.
What I see is a complete disorder with every one trying to help in their own way not having any co ordination and accountability.
GO and NGO scams may well be in store.
By the way I have this idea of selling valuable statues on this

I really see a need of hitech robbers for social equality.
Two hilarious incidents which I want to quote,
1. Rosaiah’s helicopter taking 15 minutes to take off from ground and a snake below his chair.
2. Yeddy saying people will be Bhasmafied if they touch people’s donation. Does he mean other than donation , govt money can be touched with ease and elegance. He hasn’t released money collected details either.
