ANAND SANKAR forwards a advertisement from The Indian Express. The purpose is noble, to reunite the missing children with their families. And the details are all there: kid’s name, father’s name, age, identifying features. But the department of social welfare has also gone the extra distance… by measuring the intelligence quotient (IQ) of the children.
Just so that it matches with the IQ measurement done by their parents?
A petti angadi dadda in Bangalore would have corrected “Separated” with “Missing”.
But I really like the last line
“Parents SHOULD contact….”
Making people responsible in Delhi is one hell of a task I think.

Is it a politically correct way of identifying differently abled kids?

@NAWN: It is a politically correct way of saying mentally retarded. I remember the missing persons bulletin on the kannada news in the evenings where almost inevitably after “godhi banna, saadharana maikattu”, there would be a mention of mental retardation of said missing person…

1) Which of the labor class parent reads newspaper that too, english edition?
2) I believe a six year old kid will be able to recall the place of residence.. at least name of the place.. Why are the babu log not making use of that information to contact the parents.
3) IQ level!!! Do aam parents keep track of height / weight of their kids or IQ Level?
India sucks big time.
