why should left = west?
Hmm… Why this cynical tone? It’s just a kite festival. The “unknown number of countries” seems like a new discovery. Name it regional anxiety-cum-xenophobia.
One could also say that more countries are going ‘Indian’ by being part of this festival.
I dont think so. The western world is always curious about the Oriental countries, hence is such a versatile participation. Its rather Oriental Tilt.
Reminds me of a 3rd standard kannada poem
Nice kites and a matching blue sky! I wouldn’t know for my life whether they tilted east or westwards unless being prodded by Churumuri.
@Vinay:
Thanks for a dose of nostalgia on a lazy sunday:)..those were good old days with better poems! Also remembered ‘Ajjana kolidu nannaya kudure’ and ‘Nayimari..nayimari tindi beke..’. Sad that innocence is lost forever.
Hey the kite festival is really a nice experience…I have attended both the last two kite festivals of 2006 and 2008 when i was in surathkal near panambur.. If anyone’s staying near mangalore dont miss it. And yes dont forget to take a cam with u… :)
Usually wind blows from sea side. So it’s only natural that kites are facing west as they take off…..!!
