In Nagarahole, tigers are like city buses….
‘Nagalinga raised his arm. Behind was a charging elephant cow’
Such a shame……do people still get thrill hunting with gun?

What a horrible way for a beautiful beast to attain mukti.
Fie upon the poachers who did this! And upon the supine forest officials.

They arent hunters.. bloody criminals.
India should adapt the marshal law like in china. There, if anyone found intruding in to the Panda reserve forest, they are simply shot down.
Why cant we have stringent steps to curb down the killing of our national animal ?

Where is all the money going that has been raised form the ‘Save Tiger Campaign’ ?? Is it just another scam ?? The Govt. should be forced to take this issue very seriously. The one and only way to to control poaching is to set up as many Anti – Poaching camps as possible and hire a lot more responsible officers for the lower cadre of the forest officers hierarchy. Celebrities talking on air really wont help, unless the field work is done by the right officers with true spirit of saving tigers.

I would like to state that I am a vegetarian.Since I don’t eat meat I will not kill any animal.
I would also like to say that this is not hunting but poaching.Do not equate poaching with hunting.
It is clear that conventional conservation techniques have failed in India. If we continue on the same path the day is not very far off when there would be no tigers in India except in zoos.It is time that India looks at hunting as a means of conservation. It has been very successful in conserving wildlife in USA and in African countries that allow hunting.Where as countries like India that ban hunting are conservation basket cases.Zimbawe has banned hunting and there are reports of decimation of wildlife that was abundant till not very long ago.Perhaps you should read HS Pabla’s article on hunting here

Who would know more about what should be done than some one who dealt with these issues on a daily basis.
