It wasn’t not too long ago that the BJP circulated tapes of a JDS legislator and minister allegedly being offered a Rs 150 crore bribe by the Reddy brothers in Bellary.
The boot is now on the other foot as JDS legislators wearing helmets stage a dharna at the assembly session in Vidhana Soudha, presumably to protect themselves from the thugs who have turned the hallowed precincts of the house of the people into a wrestling akhada.

I wonder what would happen if there is a blanket ban on private mining across India. lets import Iron rather than export it. Let what is there be used by future generations, when it can be locally consumed.
@harkol,
mining is not the issue, it is revenue collection from mining that needs to be addressed. Setting up steel plants wherever there are minerals is a nice idea but impractical. If you import all your iron, it will be the death of steel industry in India. Plus what if steel demand is dead in 10yrs? What will you do you with all your iron ore?
Nobody complains in Aus, Chile when they export ore, or in Middle east when they export crude oil. Mining is the easiest way of creating jobs, earning revenue (only if it is enforced !)
Think its just about time to witness another round of crying by Yeddy. This will be a pretty long one I guess!
While we are trying to solve ‘Ganigaarike’ how about some simplification of the ‘Dhanigaarike’ practiced by Dirty and his ilk?
I really wonder,what kind of defence Mr.R.K.Hegde had when he was attacked by the very same helmet wearing hooligans (sins of the soil).
