Três dias após a leitura de um discurso feito para o ministro dos Negócios Estrangeiros português, o nosso Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna torna-se um ajuste de caracteres para os desenhos animados. Amul cortesia dos desenhos animados.
Three days after reading a speech to the Portuguese Foreign Minister, our Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna becomes a set of characters for the cartoon. Amul Cartoon courtesy.
What’s with the Congress acolytes here claiming that this is “not big news”? When a person in such a supremely high position of foreign minister, is too dumb to understand for more than 3 minutes that he was reading a completely wrong speech, isn’t it something to bang our collective heads against the wall? And if that wasn’t bad enough, he would have continued rambling on till the end if an aide had not rushed to give him the correct speech!
I mean, what bullshit – do these people not have even an iota of common sense? This effectively means that this guy doesn’t even know what he talks, and he is dangerously stupid. And this guy represents us and tries to solve the India-China issue, India-Pak issues, and so on!
SM Krishna is our answer to Maharashtra’s Shivraj Patil,
This dumb FM justifies his mistake by saying it happens all the time, and we have here our own Congress party retainer asking us to move on and ignore this gossip…god save this country.
The comment space to this piece is laden with a sense of deja vu. The cheerleaders of Cong are in full swing defending the ‘Leader’. When the shoe was on the other foot (read many pictorials featuring Yeddy), the retainers of BJP did the same.
Ignorance is the root cause of foolish outbursts. Neither Gaby nor Vinay know that the first part of the speech was devoted to mumbling platitudes/ greeting people. The second part was general spiel about Security council and development.
I mean you just have to remove Gaby’s name from her posting and it looks like Nitin Gadkari’s speech. Remove Vinay’s name from his posting and it looks like Thayi Sushma’s rantings.
If you guys are intent on blowing things out of proportion, please be my guest. :-)
Since I am not a chamcha of Congress, I would rather haul the government on real issues – like rotting of food grains or going slow on arresting Kalmadi .
This is called storm in a tea cup. Don’t you have any other relevant burning topic to discuss? Or you just dont like the face of .M.Krishna and want to hang him? This is unfair and cheap. Krishna or for that matter any one on the earth, such slip ups do occur. It has not led to world war-III.
Its not about blowing things out of proportion, it’s about criticizing people when they richly deserve it. It requires basic intelligence to understand that something totally stupid is happening. If one does not have even that basic intelligence and has to be helped by an aide, I do not think that the foreign ministry is in good hands. I am inclined to believe that asshole Qureshi (Pakistani foreign minister) when he said that Krishna was phoning Delhi before every sentence, during the Indo-Pak talks.
>>Ignorance is the root cause of foolish outbursts. Neither Gaby nor Vinay know that the first part of the speech was devoted to mumbling platitudes/ greeting people. The second part was general spiel about Security council and development. >>
Somebody posted a link to a video in this post, of this gaffe by SMK which clearly showed SMK did read the wrong speech and was interrupted and handed a different written speech, which proves that there definitely was a blunder committed by SMK and his staff…but who can argue with our resident congress spokesperson ;). Here is my question, if a FM cannot even read a prepared speech and pay attention to what he is reading, what else can you expect from him. But then again, our external affairs ministry has been performing pathetically ever since independence, remember Simla Agreement and Chinese occupation of tibet to name just two accomplishments of the foriegn office. So in that light, me thinks it is OK for SMK to commit blunders like this now and in the future.
Yes, Krishna bungled. But it’s a small error – but you believe it is big. It’s your choice. But I believe that what Krishna did is neither illegal nor immoral. It’s a mere slip of the mind.
And to spend hours talking about what is essential a goof up, is not worth it. At best we can chuckle about it, and leave it at that. This goof up has mere entertainment value – nothing else!
I am surprised at your venomous outbursts. Since I am not a Congress chamcha, I will criticize Krishna for his policies, and not for a silly oversight like reading 2.4 minutes of a wrong speech.
Krishna, for instance should have forcefully commented on the Egyptian crisis instead of hemming and hawing. India should have taken a bold stance against Hosni Mubarrak – because this is of serious importance.
By all means let us haul Krishna over the coals for his administrative actions. But Not for reading a wrong speech.
Reading out a UNSC Portugal speech, which essentially would have sounded MORE OR LESS SIMILAR TO UNSC India’s speech or UNSC Argentina’s speech or some UNSC Timbuktoo speech is not a crime!
Get real. Talk issues. Instead of an inadvertent action!
Once more: yes, its not a “big” error, its a “small” error, it is not a crime, it is not immoral.
But it shows the intelligence and understanding of this man who is the foreign minister of India. It has clearly shown up the idiocy and dumbness of Krishna.
You keep saying it was an inadvertent action as if we are criticizing him for making a mistake. We are just amazed that someone who holds a position as important as foreign minister can be so stupid that he didn’t even realize that he was reading nonsense.
Had he picked up the paper, read a paragraph and realized it, it wouldn’t even have come in any newspaper. He rambled on for minutes, and would have rambled on till the very end had an aide not rushed to correct him. This clearly shows that the guy doesn’t know even the basics of what he’s doing.
The way you are trying to obfuscate the issue by making it seem as if he’s being criticized for making a human error, just makes it more obvious that you are a congress acolyte, notwithstanding all your protestations to the contrary.
While it doesnt rank with the giddy peaks of accompanying terrorists to Kandhahar, what SMK did was to lose face and make a doddering fool of himself. Only simple and macho people will say , oh get on with it. Why isnt this a real issue- or else why have an External affairs minister at all. It is neither big nor small- it is a stupid mistake which he was not supposed to do- careless is not inadvertant.
BTW I wonder why the Congress hasnt arrested Suresh Kalmadi. I would love to hear the rambling of apologists for the Congress. I havent had such fun since the BJP chamcha Bhaskar Chatterjee stopped posting in Churumuri.
Learn fromn the master of all issues, real and imaginary, the one and only, Simpleton. Don’t you know we must all get real like Simpleton and talk of issues? Yes we should comment on Hosni Mubarak because this is a serious issue for India because we have the second largest Arab population!
By all means let us haul MMS over the coals for his incompetence in administrative matters. For example MMS could be a PM/President of some country like Angola, Botswana, Eritrea, or even Somalia. BTW what is 2G scam. It is nothing as demonstrated by Simpleton’s mentor Kapil S. So please get real and talk about issues at hand. Don’t show uncommon wisdom by hindsight!
To add to the misery of our resident Congress spokesperson (you know who) Manmohan Singh has compared the 2G scam loot to subsidies. I am eager to hear what the resident Congressspokesperson has to say on this.
What was that one line that should have slapped Krishna out of his soporofic Portugal speech?
Nothing! Like I repeat: All speeches sound the same! How could Krishna or anybody make out the difference?
Inspite of your protestations to the contrary, I suspect that you have joined the BJP – and have become the internet sposkesperson of that party – with Ms. Gaby as your bumbling assitant.
Since I am not a Congress member, I can take full liberty to criticize the congress. If i was a Cong chamcha, dare I criticize anything about the Congress?
Doddi Buddhi) Yea, Egypt crisis is not serious – but a two minute speech is much much more important than the Arab Crisis engulfing the world.
“All speeches sound the same, how could Krishna make out the difference?”
Is that all you can say? Do you know how stupid you sound? You are either a brainwashed teenager or just a Chutiya – not sure which one. All speeches sound the same to you because you don’t bother to listen and understand speeches. Which is ok, since it is not expected of you, but it is certainly expected of the foreign minister. Only someone with rocks in his head will trivialize UN speeches as “they are all the same”. Thank your stars that is was Portugal’s speech, and not Papistan’s. Your Krishna would have mumbled about “human rights oppression in Kashmir” and “right to self determination of subjugated Kashmiri population” and “India’s lack of adherence to the Indus water treaty”, and simple-minded folk like you would have whined that “all speeches sound the same, how could he have known that he was reading Papistan’s speech”. Unbelievable.
You might not be a Congress member, but you are certainly a fawning fan of the Gandhi family, and anyone who happens to work for them. And it’s very telling that you were fine with my abusing Yediyurappa and the people who were supporting Yediyurappa on this blog some weeks back, but start calling me a ‘BJP member’ when your beloved Congress is the target of my criticism. That is the first sign of a devoted slave.

To think that Somnalli Kitta should be guiding the country’s formal responses to the ‘ Arab crisis engulfing the world’ and the old fool cant even diffrerentiate betweenwhat he should be saying and what someone else should be saying- and simple people believe one speech is the same as any other.
Criticising the stupidity of the Congress to simple blind men is the equivalent of speaking for the BJP. If that is not fanaticism I dont know what is?
BTW what is the simp,le explanation for the non-arrest of Kalmadi!
Of course you are not a Congress member or its spokesperson but you give a convincing performance of being one each time you post your comments! Also you have mastered the Goebbelsian trick of repeating the same lines (lies) that you are not a Congress spokesperson and so on and it convinces most of us all the more here that your calling must be that of a Congress spokesperson or you are indicating to the HRD of Congress that you possess some serious qualifications such as those of “a psychopath and a recidivist” combo who can be relied upon to defend the indefensible each and every time. Also even while averring to criticize the Congress there are some red lines you do not cross like criticizing Sonia or Rahul who obviously have taken on an iconic meaning for you and your well-being. I hope you feel better now!
Kitta perhaps is mentally, visually, and aurally impaired. He couldn’t hear his own voice, couldn’t see what was on the teleprompter, and didn’t see that the Potuguese reps in the Assembly were overjoyed that India’s foreign minister was inviting them to re-occupy Goa at no charge.
If the rumours are true that our Wiggy bought his portfolio for eighty crore rupees, there is not a damn thing the Sardarji could do about the episode.
Incidentally, let us stop the foolishness of calling the man Harvard Krishna. He got an LL.M from the Southern Methodist U in Texas and thereafter did a stint as a Fulbright Fellow at Yale. I am not sorry that I got my degrees from poor government colleges. I would know the difference between my Kannada and some other language anytime.
Wait a minute. On second thoughts, the foreign minister wanted to show the world he knew Portuguese? I don’t discount the possibility of his owning a mansion or two in Lisboa.
I repeat”: There is NO DIFFERENCE between the initial parts of anybody’s speech – since you are merely addressing the gathering there – and considering Krishna’s slow speed of speech delivery- it does take two minutes merely to address the gathering there.
I will tell you what stupidity is. Not the oversight by Krishna, but the fact that this trashy gossipy news item is consuming all your lives, all of you Vinay, Gaby and the rest of you, if you guys like cheap bitchy, low brow, pedestrian entertainment, who am I to stop you? :-)
