‘The Dirty Picture’ in Hindi doesn’t suit Kannada culture. So KFI is ‘Kannadizing’ the screenplay & script, so that Kannada culture is depicted correctly in the movie.
For a change, this time, instead of providing employment to non-Kannada actors, they are giving job to a non-Indian !

Dr. Ramesappa saar, don’t you think this is a sinister ploy by KFI to amalgamate Kanndaga culture and Paki culture?
Tomorrow KFI will gift us PakAdiga culture, and we may be privileged to see Shivrajkumar with a fist length beard and white topi, with a laang tucked into his underwear. Our Ramya clad in Burkha kidnapped by Kalasaipalya rowdies, and Shivrajkumar pursuing them in KA02 number plate auto rickshaw screaming Allah-O-Akbar in loud voice.
And the movie will have special effects. Suddenly the sky will be clouded by the Paki national bird – i.e. American predator drone. As the drone will leave its bird droppings (hellfire missiles) all over Kalasipaliya, Shivrajkumar and Burkha-clad Ramya will be miraculously left unscathed amidst the destruction all around.
The movie will have its share of sensual scenes, with Ramya’s ankles and fingers being visible out of the Burkha. Truly, this cultural amalgamation of Kannada and Paki culture will be worth watching!!!

SATYAMEVA JAYATE has been declared a damp squib. No star should think of making Mega bucks showing a woman who has undergone forceful abortions due to criminal acts of some people. There are better and correct ways to make money.

When Suri & Puneet themselves know the ‘level’ of Anna Bond, I don’t get it why your are super-excited on mediocre stuff.
Plenty of good-will was generated for Puneet from ‘Kannada Kotyadipathi’ and could be seen from the diverse group coming to the theatres. I wish Prithvi or Arasu or even Akash was released instead of Anna Bond so that new Puneet fans weren’t disappointed. I am not sure any of those folks would watch a movie again.

Going by the trend, popularity and quality of Kannada movies, I wouldn’t be surprised if top Hollywood heroines and models start queuing up to act with golden star, challenging star,crazy star,real star, diamond star,sizzling star and biggest of them all phenomenal star.
If the Kannada movie with Pakistani actress gets released in Pakistan with subtitles, Kannada movies will find a new unexplored market, this is great news when, KANNADA FILMS ARE NOT RELEASED IN MULBAGAL, SIRSI, KGF, KUNDAPUR, CHIKBALLAPURA etc.

Pulikeshi, I am very sure and serious when I speak about DR RAJ and his glorious legacy and devegowda and his astonishing achievements which includes HDK.
I want to share a personal experience, I had the honour of meeting HDK YEAR BACK, he was reading MASTI VENKATESH IYENGAR’S CLASSIC, CHIKAVEERARAJENDRA and had scores of Kannada books were around him. This was another interesting facet of HDK. He is an avid follwer of Kannada literature and has imbibed Kannada ethos, WHICH IS SADLY MISSING IN BJP,RSS AND CONGRESSMEN.
HE CONVERSES WITH PEOPLE THINKING HE IS ONE AMONG THEM.FEET FIRMLY ON GROUND.
This convinced me, kumaraswamy is the best of the political lot, he deserves, and will get the oppurtunity to govern karnataka.

ANNABOND —- suri is a super director with his signature style of telling a story with a series of interesting, abnormal, sometimes crude incidents. Its not linear narrative.some people may not like it but box office collections shows thAt its a block buster.
Now, few months back 2 TELUGU MOVIES WERE RELEASED IN KARNATAKA — DOOKUDU AND BUSINESSMAN, many kannadigas watched it ( some pro -DUBBING techie kannadigas and real estate kannadigas went to theatre with towel covered faces) ,Kannada media saluted the movie,
Reality is they were not even half as good as ANNA BOND or PARAMATMA or AK 56.
DON 2——ambreesh had done such action flicks 30 years back with great style,
DHAMMU, GOBBRA SINGH —– extremely constipated, urgently laxative needed films, some elite kannadigas even today shower praises on them.
WHEN JUDGING QUALITY, CONSISTENCY IN THOUGHT PROCESS IS A MUST, SWITCHING OFF LOGIC FOR NON KANNADA MOVIES AND OVER USING IT FOR KANNADA MOVIES IS WRONG.

I am a staunch supporter of Kannada movies and a great fan of annavaru…but the movies of his kids leave a lot to be desired and are no match for the quality movies that annavaru produced and acted in….so take it easy on anna bond..it is a rehash of a bunch of hollywood movies…most of it is taken from the ghost rider movie of nicholas cage….if there is really a good kannada movie let us all support it but at the same time let us not try to match the trashy films from neighboring states with trash produced here in KFI….like the saying goes “He is a bastard alright but he is OUR bastard” should not be mentality

However I doubt it if he even finished that book after he realized Kodagu was once ruled by Lingayat Kings:) Pray tell us what other Kannada books were lying about when you met him. You seem to be a very simple person easily fooled by appearances.
BTW how do you know other politicians don’t read Kannada Lit? For instance Vishwanath MP from Congress is a very witty person. He is streets ahead of ‘grama vasthavya’ morons like HDK. He recently said, “Devegowda should never attend a wedding and Sadananda Gowda should never attend a funeral!” work this out if you can:)

This ANNA Bond Puneeth is one guy who has manged his career spectacularly well. The movie Anna Bond stands on par with the best in the country when it comes to technical excellence. No doubt. They have made us proud !!

Paramathma, anna Bond, Pancharangi, Manasare, matte banni preethisona, super … .they were all way way better than acrobatics of telugu, crudeness of tamil or lewdness of hindi.

Guys, I am simple, tax paying, inflation hit, son of soil type, dentist. No personal gain in expressing views supporting HDK or ANNA BOND. Its my honest take on these issues.
As a regular Kannada cinema viewer ( theatres ) from decades, with special preference to Dr.Raj banner and puneeth movies, I definitely see a positive growth both in terms of quantity and technical brilliance.
One more case study,
Year and half back, puneeth acted in a movie called PRITHVI, this movie very subtly yet effectively showed THE EVIL MINING MAFIA in karnataka, was even discussed in Parliament. Puneeth showed great guts in accepting the movie then acting splendidly. A MOVIE SHOULD ENTERTAIN AND IF POSSIBLE EDUCATE, prithvi did both. But so called elite kannadigas never watched it and passed judgement that it was not good and watched MAHESH BABU, SALMAN KHAN and RAJANIKANTH.
Now the same pseudo class want to get educated by watching amirkhan, Surya and others in dubbed Kannada movies, what double standards?
Karnataka even today lacks a strong, son of soil , regional satrap like politician with pro people, pro Kannada ideology and I feel HDK CAN BECOME ONE.

ಅಷ್ಟೊಂದು ದಮ್ ಇಲ್ಲಾ ಕಣ್ರೀ.. ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡೋಕೆ ಹೋದ್ರೆ ಡಿಸ್ಟ್ರಿಬ್ಯೂಟರ್ಸು, ಥಿಯೇಟರ್ ಮಾಲಿಕರುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಎದುರು ಹಾಕ್ಕೊಬೇಕಾಗತ್ತೆ.. ಮುಂದೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಿನೆಮಾಗಳನ್ನೆ ಥಿಯೇಟರ್-ಗಳಿಂದ ಎತ್ಹಾಕೋವಷ್ಟು ಶಕ್ತಿ ಐತೆ ಅವ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಂತಾ ಈ ಉಟ್ಟಾ ನಟರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತೈತೆ.. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಏನೂ ಕಮಕ್ ಕಿಮಕ್ ಅನ್ನಾಕಿಲ್ಲ ಈ ವಿಸ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ.

I am your elite Kannadiga, since I am pro-dubbing and didn’t like Anna Bond. But I watched Prithvi twice in theatre and again when it was on TV. I consider it as one of the best works of Puneet & suggested people I know to watch it.

– its not machu, longu story
– and they will watch Mahesh Babu, Salman Khan & Rajnikath to lift next story.

Would Veena speak her own lines or would her lines in the movie be dubbed by someone else? If someone else dubs her lines then she might cause a truce between pro and anti dubbing groups.
Like every other film industry KFI too has its share of good and bad movies. There is no point in blindly eulogizing or demonizing everything. Movies that worked with audiences had a decent storyline and good music. It is true now as it was in past decades.

I am talking about the quality of films made by the sons of Annavru, and am not comparing them with either the films of Annavru or the Telugu, Tamil or Hindi movies. Annavru had the real guts, quality and integrity to act only in Kannada movies. His joker sons do not have any of these. The quality of films these jokers have acted in is there for everybody to see.
As you rightly pointed out, the three established themselves in Kannada film industry by their Raj surname. You take surname out, and these buggers are not more than ordinary hobos. Do you think any producer in the right frame of mind would like to cast these chaps in their films, that too as heroes?
I really really appreciate your staunch pro-Kannada stance. But we need to be aware of the realities too. Just because these three have strong media linkage (by means of their relationship with the Prajavani group) and political backup does not mean that they can say all rowdy stuffs as though they are the guardians of the Kannada culture.

All Kannadigas like swa-make movies based on good stories. No doubt Rajkumar did yeoman service for Kannada. You seem not to recognize other actors doing their bit for Kannada. Your asinine defence of that moronic movie Anna Bond is a disgrace and you should do some ‘Athma Awalokana’. Sure we all liked Jackie that doesn’t mean even the shit served by Anna Bond smells like Gulabi.
Surely there are a lot of disgraceful types in KFI and not every story can be a swa-make one! QED.

Puneeth Raj ‘s long cherished dream, a reality now. Book on Dr. Raj was released recently. A high quality international standard publication which is a real collectors item and selling like hot cakes.
Shivanna, raghavendra and puneeth declared that the money from the sale of these books would go for development of Kannada schools. WHAT A GESTURE—— GENES truly.
Puneeth personally helps people who are in real need but do not win much or come to the hot seat in his game show.

DB, shivprakash, PTL—- world over best annual success rate of movies is 12-14% according to cinema experts. Kannada movies are in sync. For every bad movie, there is a good movie and slowly but surely Kannada movies are entering the big league.
5. REASONS. WHY I LIKED ANNA BOND———–
a) climax action sequence is the best choreographed action sequence ever in Indian film industry. Puneeth, mood created for the shot, camera angles are scintillating.
b) suri’s charecterisation. Bond Ravi, chapati babu,singapura chandrappa are lively, realistic, rustic ,unpredictable charecters one may come across in many parts of semi rural and rural India.
C) mobile home—-sthavarakkalivuntu, jangamakkalivilla — wow
D) cinematography—– sathya hegde, one of the best in India, muthatti, bheemeswari looks so stunningly different.
E) costume design in the song KAANADANTE MAYAVAADANO and the way THUMBA NOITADE SONG is conceptualized with vibrant jaathre, santhe theme.
I felt truly happy and thought my money and time were well spent.

Without a good story all these stock characters you mention are useless and out of place. Hardly original they have all been resurrected from earlier movies. Climax action sequence you mentioned is laughable! Thaley illa buda illa antharalla hage! All the desperate attempts to recycle an old Rajkumar song is pathetic. There is no connection as to why that song needs to be in the movie. Its purely schizophrenic to analyze this movie! Thumba noitade is a rehash of the good song sequence from Jackie “Yakka Raja,,,”

there are indeed few funny moments in Anna Bond:
– Throughout the movie Puneet is searching for Charlie. And when the film is about to end, he just lands at Charlie’s place. If he all long knew Charlie’s address, why was he searching?
– Probably the director got bored after 2 hours and told Charlie’s location to Punnet :)
– Nidhi Subbaiah was added to make up the head-count. Since she was paid, she was included in a song. There is no other reason why she is there in the movie.
– Climax is WWF fight. People got bored of WWF 15 years ago.
– Villain plays Russian roulette and this went out of fashion in 60s, 70s with bollywood movies.
– Puneet performs an operation which turns a criminal into a lunatic, which can be believed. But how does he ride a bike without petrol tank?
– And the mobile home, which has ground clearance of at best 10cm, how does it go off-roading into a forest?
PS: I can tell many more, sorry I gotto go.

Whoa – this entire thread has become a critique of Anna Bond!
The basic learning that we should take from this post is to expose the bunkum of KFI that it is trying to “save jobs for mannina makkalu”. Some commentators on churumuri were claiming that “millions of Kannadigas will lose jobs if dubbing is allowed”, and that we should also consider “future Puneeths and Shivrajkumars who might sprout on our land”.
The KFI trolls come and give us all that lecture on the one hand, and on the other hand they go and recruit Pakis. It shows massive hypocrisy.

Any story sets the context and proceeds from there. For instance, Rajnikanth’s Robot set the context about a robot and its capabilities. Then the film goes on from there. Hence you see a cloned robots doing the tricks.
Anna Bond’s context is present day and the story doesn’t go anywhere.
Unless you are a ‘Ghazni’ & lose the plot, you will enjoy the tidbits of action, dance, jokes in Anna Bond.

From your posts on dubbing, you reveal your gross under-estimation of talent & skills of Kannadigas. But because KFI is unable to tell a good story doesn’t mean that Kannadigas are less-capable.
Just like Mr Lalit Bhanot feels India has ‘different’ standard of cleaniness, you seem to feel Kannadigas have ‘different’ or lower standards for entertainment. So you want everyone (like you) just consume whatever is dished out by KFI with great aplomb.
A simple test: Will you recommend a movie to your family or friends (without any malice)? Then thats a good movie. I am not sure if your family or friends would like to watch Anna Bond.

I had to comment on KFI again, such was the brilliance of the movie.
Watched ADDHURI — young, talented director, debutant dashing hero, heroine with great acting prowess, super music. The movie was stylish with youthful exuberance. Technically themovie is as good as any Hindi or Telugu movie.
Kannadigas have given it a thumbs up by making it a roaring success.
Young director arjun has to be complimented for his talent and confidence for carefully handling a good screenplay. He proves again that cinema is a directors medium.
Movies like Anna bond, addhuri have made sure that. I don’t loose interest in Kannada movies.
Great going KFI.
