By the way how many Moslims are in detention in India without trial/ ‘fair trial’. Maybe we need to think from Australia’s point as well. Once bitten twice shy. (dont know how many times they were bitten). There is one Terrorist languishing in Coimbatore jail for about 10 years.. Abdul Nasar Madani. But unlike in Haneef’s case, there are concrete evidences in ANM’s spittting venom against Hindus and the country.

Show mercy for a proper cause. One should know the results of his acts. You cannot plead innoncence afterwards. Again, you can tell you by the company you keep. Is it a strange coincidence that brothers/relatives are caught for an act that they say that they didn’t know anything about it, though living in far off places. Between intelligence and wisdom the latter should rule the man and his life.

Forget Haneef for a second. Spare a thought for lower class Indians languishing in jails in Middle East nations for no fault of theirs. A few of them have completed a good part of their lives (20/30 years in jails) for crimes which have been foisted on them. Who cares for them? What double standards we follow!

Middle East nations or Australia – Doen’t matter! It’s sad to see how India doesn’t stand up for Indians.

All drama sir. Haneef supported terrorists..everyone has to understand that fact !
He should be given death penalty. Just because he is from Karnataka or India I can’t just pity on him. These “jehad” people are very very (1000 times) dangerous to this world! Because of those people air travel has become big pain to everyone.
What a shame Haneef!! Shame you are a doctor! MCI must immediately reject his MBBS degree!

Adny beta,
My point is that there are already many muslims in Indian jails without ‘fair trials’. When Australia detains one, we all seem to unite and protest. What about the Indians in Indian jails without trial?

Rama, I agree with your point. Just stand before any distric court in Karnataka, see many people of Haneef’s community are brought to court in vans and taken in the evening back without proper facilities for defending themselves. How many social service organizations, NGOs, their own community people are coming forward to help these people…Because it happened in a diff.country, the person concerned is an educated person and his parents are affluent, they have somebody to support, everybody is trying to find fault with the Aus. police and the way they have handled the case. May draw the attention towards a write up in the Deccan Herald “India can”t interfer in the probe” by C H Hanumantharaya, eminent lawyer from Bangalore(22th July @007).
