Either everybody is getting it wrong or everybody is getting it right. Or everybody is playing it safe.
This is the third table-top prediction by editors of The Times of India, presumably on the basis of on-the-ground reports from their bureaux.
The following is how the fortunes of the three major alliance have fluctuated in the three ToI surveys:
Congress + other UPA: 201 to 198 to 195.
BJP + other NDA: 195 to 176 to 187
Third Front: 82 to 109 to 111.
Others and independents: 65 to 60 to 50.

Well…., goes to say that Congress(+allies) might just as well pip BJP(+allies) at the post! Right then , no surprise in the above prediction as well.(TOI is like the Sanjewani —No offence please). I am pretty sure, a whole bunch of people will be happy if this goes wrong. Still, its the left front that holds all the keys.
Just yesterday, we had the wannabe PM in Rahul Gandhi telling that he will eliminate terrorism in a paltry 15 minutes!!!! Imagine he and the likes becoming PM one day!!! Its not just scary but disgusting to the truest meaning of the word. As for 15 minutes is concerned, which sane or even an”insane” person be able to make such a statement comparing it to prosperity in villages. Somebody needs to just ask him to eat some real crap.
Still thinking abt congress ruling for another term???? Cmon guys, get real and les give others a chance coz we will be better off than some silliest people giving nation building Interviews…..

We can see how the trend is changing from UPA being the single largest party to just having a difference of 8 seats with NDA… this shows how the media predictions are swinging…. let us give time to the actual counting to start….

Yeah right and I will be PM,give me a break! 12 for Con in Maharashtra, sorry not more than 5 ,there’s terrible anti-incumbency for ruling NCP-INC of which only NCP may hold on to its previous tally of 11,same for Karnataka not more than 5,I can understand the loyalty of TOI to its paymasters,no one forgets the stimlulus package 400 crores to media esp in midst of elections ! But to abuse our intelligence by giving 150 to INC is unacceptable,my hunch is BJP-170,Congress-135

The election forecastes is a highly subjective affair. In the absence of the provable data on which the inference has been drawn, it cannot be taken seriously. It has at the most a curiosity value. thatsall.

Hope elections last forever, ads in newspapers put by govt. agencies contain more info and are lot more readable without ministers-and-what-nots’ mugshots.

TOI tried its best to project BJP as the winning horse in 2004.
Does that mean BJP was the paymaster of Times in 2004?
Not just times, the entire media predicted BJP would win.
Even in 2008 delhi assembly polls, the entire media had said Sheila had massive anti incumbency and Cong would do badly.
Clearly shows the bias of media in favour of BJP
