A two-judge vacation bench of the Supreme Court of India has restrained the Narendra Modi government in Gujarat from arresting sociologist Ashis Nandy, for an opinion piece titled ‘Blame the middle class’ he wrote in The Times of India in January this year.
Justice Altamas Kabir: “There is no ground for harassing a journalist. Let him live in peace. You [Gujarat] are prosecuting this man for his article. There are worse things happening in this country. If a journalist cannot write then who else will? I have read the article and I find nothing is objectionable. They look for a soft target to catch but not even a single politician or small municipal councillors are caught. He [petitioner] is 71 years old and is a soft target for you…. What is the grievance of the complainant? How does it [article] bother him? Is he a staunch nationalist?”
Justice G.S. Singhvi: “People coming from the land of Mahatma Gandhiji have become so intolerant that they can’t even tolerate an article.”

I could understand the agony of persons like Dedi who exclaims, “People who openly admitted to committing murder on camera are allowed to roam scot free while journalists whose job is to write are arrested!!!!!!!!”
This type of state terrorism could happen only in Gujarat!
This trend of targetting innocent journalist exposes the insecurity of the preset day indian politician. He is always afraid of God. He is always fearing that something will happen and the tide will change against him. This fear makes him insecure. So he targets anyone who speaks loud; anyone who speaks truth.

The BJP should learn to accept constructive criticism whether it comes from the Opposition or the media. Groomed under a fascist ideology, there appears to be no room for tolerance in the BJP’s rank and file, much less in their leadership.
The BJP Government in Karnataka, which appears to be a softer version of Modi regime, is understood to be busy “buying” up the journalists in the State in a bid to contain the negative media coverage over the fertilizer shortage.
If their efforts fail, it should not be surprising if the BJP Government in Karnataka goes about hounding journalists just like Modi. After all, Yeddyurappa and his cabinet colleagues have repeatedly asserted that they want to adopt Gujarat model of governance in Karnataka.

J Kabir, Prof. Nandy is not a journalist. He is a respectable pyschologist and sociologist who is well aware of the effects of his published words.
I equate his article with the insensitive reporting done by Star News and other media agencies which have not simply commented on this issue but also have this intention of fueling and sustaining the hatred and divisiveness.
I know, Prof. Nandy has to please his peers and be celebrated as a great thinker of our times.

This supreme court order must have made the congies, commies, pinkos, the underwears and the langotis of this world extremely happy!!!
They tried their best to make NaMo lose the election. They were unsuccessful. So any bit of news or event which is seen as a setback to him is a joyous occassion for them.
This is somewhat similar to what had happened in US when George Bush won the election. The intelligentia had written him off with their armchair analysis of events. But when he won the election, they tried to divide America into segements. The progressive and forward thinking cities and the conservative & backward interiors of America.
They were wrong. The commies here are wrong. But how to digest the defeat? So analysis after analysis is puked by the disillusioned “thinkers”. Nandy is one of them. AFter this judgement, me thinks the Guhas and the Roys of the world will join them.
Fair enough. They have to justify the Thinking tag attached to them. And the best way to do is to denounce hindus enbloc!!!

@Dedi,
If you know of anyone who has openly admitted that they murdered others and still are roaming free you can do two things.
1. Give the info to police and ask them to take action.
2. If you dont have time, you can give this info to people like Teesta Setalvads and Medha Patkars. They are like bounty hunters who are waiting to add one more hindu scalp to their list so that they can collect their fees from their funding masters.
What is your choice???

@Dedi,
True, Shivsena asked for the formation of Hindu Terrorist squad. But why??
When the governements across the country are shielding terrorists lest they lose the votes of minorities, this was bound to happen. And look at how cunningly the media too downplays the incidents involving hindu losses.
For example, the Jaipur blast was covered probably for a couple of days. After that the primetime story was Arushi Murder case. As if the murder of one girl is more important than the plight of hundreds of families who lost their members.
People talk about hidden agenda of BJP and Sangh Parivar. They completely become blind to the open agenda of the media, commies and sickularists to undermine the hindu woes completely.
Therefore a statement from Shivsena for a Hindu Hit Squad.

Agreeing to the order and abiding by the order are two different things.
In this case, the Gujarat government may not agree with the order. But it has to abide by the order.
The moot point here is not what the court ordered. It is the reaction of a section of people to the order.

let the law take its own course. Let the law hang the killers. Let the law hang the mass murderers. Let the law hang the child killers. Let the law hang the rapists. Let the law hang the merchants of death.

What an unfortunate statement? What is tolerance to some might be intolerant to others. Just who the hell is Justice Singhvi to take a moral ground and define “intolerance” begs to be answered.
If people perceive intolerance, they go to court to get it resolved. If the court itself derides the person who has felt insulted as being intolerant, then what other avenues can a person take? Shame.

What is the definition of “journalist” these days? People who were fooled by some bloggers in Goa – are they journalists? Or just because he writes some column once in a blue moon Ashish Nandy is a journalist?
Ashish Nandy was never known as a journalist – so stop portraying this as issue of “free press” and all that. At worse one can concede Ashish Nandy as an “Asthana Pandita” – one has to give it to likes of Nandy who given an impression of anti-establishment but have lived their life off tax payers by accepting goodies from the govt in the form of appointments to some committee or foreign trips etc.

So Gujarati went to court because a self-styled ‘political psychologist’ (WTF is that) slandered Gujaratis. Court threw his case out. Big deal. He made his point and many, many Gujaratis and Indians now know what kind of hypocrites these ‘political psuchologists’ and their ilk are. That is waht matters. Did anyone think the man who files the case expected Nandy to be sent to jail? He made his point; good for him!
In many corners of India (hint-hintand the world, ‘peaceful people’ do not go to court for this kind of slandering; they simply make fine examples of opposing voices by slicing their throats.
Gujaratis are very patient people but despite being a border state to a most evil ‘nation’, have managed to keep their culture and border intact. They have been subjected to undeserved slandering while a massive butchery goes on unchecked elsewhere within the nation and nations border.
Dear p-sec friends, remember John Dryden “Beware the fury of a pateint man”.

Understanding Muhammad by Ali Sina
“Why are some Muslims intolerant, violent and supremacist? Why do they bully? What spurs them to riot and murder over the silliest things? To understand Muslims, one must understand their prophet. This psychobiography seeks to unveil the mystery of the prophet of Islam. Historians tell us Muhammad used to withdraw to a cave, spending days wrapped in his thoughts. He heard bells ringing and had ghostly visions. He thought he was demon possessed, until his wife reassured him he had become a prophet. Convinced of his status, he was intolerant of those who rejected him, assassinated those who criticized him, raided, looted, and massacred entire populations. He reduced thousands to slavery, raped, and allowed his men to rape female captives. All of this, he did with a clear conscience and a sense of entitlement. He was magnanimous toward those who admired him, but vengeful toward those who did not. He believed he was the most perfect human creation and the universe’s raison d’être. Muhammad was no ordinary man. This book ventures beyond the stories. Focusing on the “why” rather than the “what,” it unravels the mystique of one of the most enigmatic and influential men in history. Islam is Muhammadanism. Muslims worship and emulate Muhammad. Only by understanding him can one know what makes them tick. Understanding Muhammad begins with a brief history of his life. Muhammad had a loveless childhood. He then passed to the care of relatives who took pity on him and spoiled him. As the result he developed narcissistic personality disorder, a trait that made him a megalomaniac bereft of conscience. Muhammad believed in his own cause. Even when he lied, he felt entitled and justified to do so. Thanks to another mental illness, namely temporal lobe epilepsy, the prophet of Islam had vivid hallucinations he interpreted as mystical and divine intimations. He also suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder, causing his fixations on numbers, rituals and stringent rules. In the addition, he suffered from acromegaly, a disease caused by excessive production of a growth hormone resulting in large bones and odd facial features. The combination of his psychological disorders and his unusual physiognomy made him a phenomenon that set him apart from ordinary people. His uneducated followers interpreted his differences as signs of his prophethood. Like devotees of all cults, they rose to champion his cause with dedication. By defying death and butchering others they made Islam the world’s second largest religion, now the biggest threat to world peace. The author argues that Islam is incompatible with democracy and human rights, and the only way to avert the clash between barbarity and civilization, and a world disaster, is to expose its fallacy and demystify it. “Muslims must be weaned from Islam for humanity to live in peace,” says Ali Sina. “

Democratic elected Modi is denied visa. Musharaff is welcome. Godhra train hindus forgotten. Post Godhra screamed about for 7 yrs running, Babri 15 yrs, Godse 60 yrs just to bash only hindu protector party ie BJP.It is HIndus who are a minority compaired to world wide rich Ummah and christains.
Muslims do not file cases in a legal manner. They just come out of Mosques on Fridays after fiery sermons and get violent.Let MFH paint islamic icons and let Nandy call Kashmiri muslims communal and Bengalis communal for voting imn communal pro illegal bangladeshi and anti Taslema WB govt.
Tasleema spoke up for Hindus in BD.They never have. They are hypocrites
