You have more fundamentalists in the US than anywhere else. In some of the states they start a conversation asking you about the church you go to. In general they hate anything alien.

A classic case of religious intolerance by a few who are no better than those filthy mullahs preaching hatred! I was listening to one of the leading far-right radio host yesterday and it was quite evident that anything outside the Judeo-Christian circle is seen with suspicion by the religious right.
Here is the good news – these guys are still a minority. Most of the population does understand the notion of cultural pluralism. Even Republicans pander to these groups only during primaries. Unfortunately, the 9/11 and following incidents have helped these fringe groups to gain little more voice and support.
